Who Do You Wish To Come Back?

Who else? Lambiel of course. The things that he's doing now as a professional skater makes me wonder how he would've been able to push the sport artistically had he done those things on the competitive ice. But we all know his heart is not in competition anymore. I'm actually surprised how many skaters have gone to him for choreography already.

And also Joannie Rochette who, IMO, has unfinished business with skating. I saw her skating in some shows the past couple of months, and I've never seen her skate with so much freedom and expression as a competitive skater. Just so breathtaking to watch. IMO she's totally competitive and should come back and win a world title.

Todd Eldredge. He had everything (jumps, spins, skating skills, presentation) but quads. He deserves an Olympic medal more than Evan Lysacek did.

Well, I 'm not going to start an argument here. I do feel Evan earned his OGM fair & square. As for Todd & Kurt, I'm still devastated that neither has an Olympic medal of any color, but thank goodness they've had great pro careers and had impressive competitive results in many Olympic eligible events.

oh no. he was boring

In your opinion, but let's agree to politely disagree. Just for the record, have you ever seen him skate live? He "flies" on the ice!

As far as whom I'd like to see come back and compete (too bad there is no longer a pro comp circuit :disapp:) - Midori, Michelle, Todd, Kurt, Stephane, Delobel & Schoenfelder, ...

I wish Shawn Sawyer would come back. I wanted him to get one last Worlds. I also wish Kristoffer Berntsson and Alban Preaubert hadn't retired, although with their results, especially Berntsson's, it might have been time. Shawn was on the upswing though!

On the ladies' side I wouldn't mind Miki Ando coming back but I know she probably is anyway. I don't care if Joannie Rochette does or not. I didn't enjoy her 'amateur' skating but I do enjoy her pro skating. She just looks more happy now. I found she looked miserable at most competitions (not just the 2010 Olympics for obvious reasons).

For pairs, of course Pang/Tong and maybe Inoue/Baldwin so they could go to another Olympics but I know they were getting past their prime. I was really disappointed when they weren't sent in 2010 though. I actually think they're a better overall team than Evora/Ladwig, but that's the way things go..

In dance I wish the Kerrs hadn't retired and I want Khokhlova back with a new partner! I also wouldn't have minded if Navarro/Bommentre had stuck around a few more seasons, but it didn't seem they were improving and they kept narrowing missing World/Olympic teams. However, they could be in the running for a bronze at US Nats this year if they had stayed. :(

In my dream world, Sasha and Lambiel would come back and win worlds, especially Sasha. In real life, it's clear they have had it as competitors. I would say Yuna Kim. I know she is not officially retired but I can't help but hope she comes back in great shape for Sochi. She is so exciting.

I would like to see Belbin & Agosto come back. If any team deserved a World title that didnt get it, it was them. I felt badly for how the USFSA dumped them in favor of Davis & White right before the Olympics.

I would like to see Delobel & Schoenfelder return as it was sad how they couldnt finish their career at their best, and have a real shot at an Olympic medal, due to the double whammy of injury and pregnancy. It was sad to see them finish well below their best.

I would like to see Buttle return. IMO he would have won the last Olympic Gold had he stayed in. He retired too early. He is certainly a better skater than Lysacek.

I of course want to see Pang & Tong back and it sounds like they will be back for Worlds. That is great. I wouldnt mind seeing Totmianina & Marinin back too.

Only going with the ones that are somewhat realistic if their hearts and minds were in it:

YuNa Kim
Joannie Rochette
Miki Ando (I have a feeling she likely will come back)
Shizuka Arakawa
Sasha Cohen

Evgeny Plushenko
Stephane Lambiel
Johnny Weir
Jeffrey Buttle

On the plus side, Johnny and Sasha will be performing a duet in the upcoming Kaleidoscope on Ice. Maybe they should become a pairs team!

I always enjoyed Todd's skating. His triple axels were fab. His choice of music were always "big Music". From movies mostly. I read that Todd cut his music himself. At 40 years old he can still do the triple axel. A real sweet guy. I would love to see jeff Buttle come back. Quad or no quad, Jeff has such beautiful moves on the ice. He's cute too.

Jeff Buttle's 2008 lp when he won Worlds "aarat" was perfection on ice. He had it all, No quad but he certainly didn't need it. His skating was beautiful. Such style and landed all the jumps. His footwork and edges are amazing.
