Heyy can you tell me what he said at the part where he talked about his FS in the Worlds last spring, showing the handmark he did there? Just curious...

Said that he didn't plan to raise his hand, it's just happened and then he showed the finger as a symbol of not his power only but the power of all people who supported him. By this he wanted to say "thank you".

No need to translate .... Think about the wonder job Natalya Bestemyanova did in just a few weeks last year ,speaking a language that Yuzu didn’t understand (English) .... when the body speaks, Yuzu’s eyes and brain listen very carefully!!

Orser said that at first there was a translator around, now there isn't. Yuzuru said that even now he has trouble sometimes understanding what Orser says, but when he does he watches Javier to see what he has to do.

Even though they showed his FS at Finlandia Trophy the interview, like let's talk said, was likely recorded before that. So if something strange happened at the end, that's why they didn't mention it. But I don't think there's anything wrong, he was just really tired and out of breath -- more so than usual, but then it's two quads and not one. In the video on youtube that has the FS as well as the Kiss and Cry, it looks like he says to Orser 'I'm so much tired', when he bows over at the beginning on the couch and Orser pats his back.

Lynn Rutherford (a reporter) tweeted about practices yesterday, here's two about Yuzuru:

'Kozuka off and on with his quad, couple of hard falls. Hanyu looks solid. #SA2012"

"Brian Orser surprised with how strong Hanyu was in practice today; he arrived day late after being held up in immigration in Toronto #SA2012"

I think he's fine.

Brian Orser ended up in the table next to me at the hotel bar so we end up striking a conversation. He was not surprised at Yuzuru's performance. He talked about how both sp and fs are very challenging for Hanyu, and that he has been working with Hanyu to do more run thoughs. He said that when he first met with Hanyu, he learned that he did not skate as much daily as someone wanting to be top caliblier competition should. But he pointed out that Yuzuru has been a gentleman, respectful and willing to learn. I think we all saw the fruit of that tonight.

He was surprised by the score. He said based on his performance tonight compared to Finlandia, he expected a score more in the high 80's.

On a lighter note, the topic of the Pooh tissue box came up and he said, "When he was not my student I used to make fun of that. Now I have to hold it." He said this in a good natured way. We all laughed.

Poor kid. Bombed the FS just like last year at CoC. Those two falls in the beginning seemed to have knocked the wind out of him. Good for him for going for the 4S after the first fall and not choosing to do a 3S instead. Starting to think that a 2 quad program might be too difficult for him, especially if he falls on both of them in the beginning. Even at Finlandia when he landed both of them, he still looked like he was gonna pass out at the end. Would he have to win NHK to make it to the final?

It will depend on how the other guys do. I am expecting Chan and Takahashi to make it....so I think if Yuzuru medals at NHK, he'll probably make it *crosses fingers*

But it wasn't even that long ago that people said the 4T in the SP was too much. And then his FS packed with content that seemed to much for him at the beginning... but he managed. I still think he will be fine. He develops so fast, throughout the season too. It's not unusual for young skaters to have a meltdown once in a while - and Hanyu is not exactly an early season skater. I would have been shocked if he'd had a great FS after that awesome SP - so early in the season, that would hav nearly looked like a 'peaked too soon'-thing. Maybe he will just do it the way he did last year

About the GPF: I think he's pretty save as long as he at least gets 2., 3. may not be enough depending on the other skaters. So he at least has to beat Dai or Javi at NHK.

You don’t relly need to be a physician to diagnose his miserable condition at the end of the FS, while lying gasping on the ice… it was so painful to watch , take a look at the the slow motion.. :disapp:

I wonder were the JSF is.

I also wonder why his Mum has already realized Yuzu is dangerously overworking himself while his canadian team hasn’t got it yet.
They have been so quick and efficient to build the horrible sexy rock star imagine, but they are not able to figure out how to handle his very thin and asthmatic body after 4-5 months of practice.

May be they can call Nanami to have some suggestion before it’s too late !

Actually , a part from jumping, his overall posture and carriage have quickly deteriorated due to his great body weakness and his amazing spins are worsening too. Surely Yuzuru didn’t forget Bestemyanova’s lesson and this is not the supposed “upper level skating” for sure.

Will they say he’s in gasping because of his poor SS and not because of asthma and overworking?
Or will they say it’s his own responsibility , as usual?

In this poor physical condition Yuzu will hardly survive to the JN, since his programs are both barely competitive , while many japanese men are so strong this year (Dai, Taka ,Machida ..!!! Oda??) .. So I wish they will fix the situation immediately, using a medical supervision .


But little Yuzu is so tender … the more he’s tired the more he has a baby face… poor kid !

Yes, poor kid, so young and already on the verge of death because the adults around him would rather see him collapse than be successful. Such a sad fate. A mother that doesn't care about his health at all and leaves him in the hands of monster Orser, who is just carrying out JSF's plans and making him work too much and get injured so that he doesn't endanger Patrick Chan's chances of winning Olympic gold. It's not like he's capable of speaking out, after all.

Ok, out with the sarcasm. He bombed. Is it surprising? Honestly no, this is what usually happens when he has a perfect short program: disaster in the free. Does that cancel out his performance yesterday? I don't think so, just brings a lot of people back on earth, which is good. He won his second Grand Prix medal, a silver, and still has a good chance of making it to the finals.

Besides that, for me, having to read such posts in Yuzuru's uber thread is much more depressing than seeing his performance today. Or rather, ridiculous. Which is why I'm out of here for good.

I must say that Yuzu's FS in Skate America made me quite worried. Not because he fell some of his jumps, that happens to everyone once in a while, but because he was so tired he didn't even try to perform his program well in the latter half of the FS, and just gave up and skated it through without a hint of passion. That was horrible to watch.

Makes me wonder why he was indeed so tired - of course skating two difficult programmes in two days is hard, but he did it in Finlandia Trophy, so why not in Skate America? I sincerely hope it's nothing more serious than being worn out after a superb SP. If it's because of his asthma getting worse or his injured ankle not healing well enough, then he - and we the fans - is in trouble. Now it's time for Brian Orser to be a good coach and find out what's the reason for this mess and do something about it.

I'm pretty sure you were the one who brought him up and said that he was making Yuzuru some sort of porn teenage star, and compared his situation with that of an alleged molester. My point was another one, that had nothing to do with Orser in fact (and with Plushenko, while we're at that, since you said that I should have mentioned him yesterday).
