That said, last week's panel was pretty darn strict. If this panel is as strict, it will be an opportunity to get a better picture of how the competition stacks up this year.

Are any of these people on the Olympic Dance panel (specifically that anti-american French woman)? Isn't she the one that stuck it to all the Americans at Worlds? I see the U.S fed was smart enough to not send an American dance couple here to be slaughtered.

I don't think the Tech Specialist being American is relevant to anything. I am a D/W fan but V/M are a class of their own as well. If they go out and skate 2 great programs they will easily win this event.

I stand corrected then. But who was the Technical Caller at 2012 Worlds? They let a Nationalist be the TS for two years in a row?

Maybe she wanted to atone for her sins the following year. And wasn't an American sitting next to her? I am surprised though that they let a Nationalist do the job two straight years.

Tessa and Scott winning this competition is not my worry- they are going to win 99.99%
My worry are the scores they are going to receive- they need to grow their scores to in order to try and close the gap and be competitive with Meryl and Charlie.

The tech specialist determines the levels for all elements and when the race for ice dance Gold is between and American and Canadian team, and the tech specialist is an American, bias (which is uncontrollable and part of our human nature) is going to play a role and visa versa (if there was a canadian on the panel)
