Men Free Skating - 2013 Trophée Eric Bompard

It allows him to backload his combinations. He can make his two triple axel jumping passes into combinations and take advantage of that jump's GOE scaling. He must be consistent in practice with the quad salchow for them to go ahead with such an ambitious jump layout.

?

Having it a level four gives him nothing more than additional .4 points, though.

that could be the difference to get on the podium and besides isn't he lacking on jumps since some guys are doing 2 quads and 2 triple axels or in some case s 3 quads?

yep , 4T wont make that much difference same quality with his jumps
his 4S is always been inconsistent, almost Fernandez like.

Orser needs to dump telling them to do 4S
and they run our of air at the end of their LPs :disapp:

I so badly want Yuzu to skate clean
and beat Chan, I don't want Chan anywhere near that Olympic Gold

A clean Yuzu will never get the PCS needed to beat Chan and with Chan getting 100 in TES, the only chance he had at beating Chan is completely gone.
I do agree that attempting the 4S is strange. He just can't do them in competition, so he is always leaving those points on the table whenever he does his FS.

Sky_fly20 I am pretty sure that Patrick Chan will win OGM. I have no question. If he at least skates the way he did at this GP, it will not sting as much. Yuzu's programs just do not fit him. I am extremely disappointed by DTakahashi's choices as well. Jeremy Abbott - well it's Jeremy Abbott we are talking about. Plushenko will require extreme miracles that I do not think exist. Adam Rippon will be lucky if they allow him on the team and places in the top 7. Machida - not sold on him. Denis - meh. No one can beat him.

Well, way to set the bar so low, by comparing him to Evan  I do agree that he is trying, however, with his level of talent, I still need more.

Maybe acting school might help? But please not the Sandra Bezic school of acting or emoting LOL :) Regardless of your opinion of Chan or even the music watch his feet - he is constantly weaving a spell with them and that should show up on goes - that is why folks even if he falls say two times he should have a good chance the degree of difficulty is amazing (even if his jumps are easier (and as pointed out they are that much easier than the top men) he more than makes it up on pcs which add to the difficulty of his tes too.

Yuzu is not magic this season - something is gone.

Actually you don't need to like him as a person....
The choreo is far from the same in the two programs.

The programs have grown exponentially since they were choreographed and Chan has developed along with them.

I saw him live at Thornhill and skate canada this season and the program growth is amazing.

I do think he needs some work on the costumes. Vera (Wang) since it looks like your boy isn't going to the Olympics maybe you could come up with something majestic for Four Seasons for Patty. Maybe a graphic but simple shirt or tunic?

I like Yuzu. But yeah he needs to pick jumps wisely. Thank you also for clarifying your position on Chan. In case there was any question we understand your positon on Chan and conicidentally, and I am sure it is a fluke, Canadian skaters. :) :) :) !!!!

the PCS disparity between Yuzu to Chan is mind blogging :disapp:
Yuzu skating clean needs to get his due credit in his deserved PCS

but no use I guess, Chan has been the most heavily policticked by his Fed especially with V/M having little chance of winning gold

Yeah, if Patrick skates like this in Sochi, there's really no one that can beat him. I may not think he's this amazing artist on the ice (as many of his fans believe) but I can appreciate the talent and the skill he has.

In my eyes, he is no artist. Perhaps this is why I think he is very good but not great. There are so many other artists that have stolen my heart throughout the years. It will hurt to see them struggle to make the Olympics only to lose. It will hurt but it is inevitable and Patrick Chan better be perfect without falls so that I don't cry as much.:cry::cry:

Are you seriously concerned about his chances of getting on to the podium? Lacking in jumps? Which guys are actually ''doing'' 2 or 3 quads and 2 3A in a competition? All clean, that is, without messing up the rest of the program including the performance?

Not an artist? Hrm, in my opinion Patrick Chan is head and shoulders above any male figure skaters in artistry specifically.

um...Kathy Johnson? Just a guess...

Well I'm thinking the environment at DSC has been really good for him. He seems to be getting along great with the other skaters there including Jeremy and Weaver/Poje. He had mentioned that World Arena environment wasn't working...so I'm glad to see that he can have a more thriving training environment.

Well, Hanyu's program with perfect execution and decent PCS does have the potential for 110+ technical score, so I wouldn't say that he has no chance even if his PCS are lower.
