2014 Worlds Men Short Program

Yuzuru, Javi, Machida.

Yes. If Yuzuru lands his 4S and skates clean, he should win.

Interesting point, Treeloving. Before PW, I always thought of his sp as being his weaker skate. Then it became like his pillar.

I wonder if Yuzuru skates better as the underdog rather than as the favorite, going into the fs. This might work out for him still.

The italian commentators said that Javi is higher than Machida in choreo. and something else I didn't get. The rest is lower.

I just woke up (missed the whole darn thing) but got to see Javier skate. He was amazing

Machida in first with that monster score!

It was a great competition after all.

So many skaters got flowers from audience, that was lovely:clap:

It's final 6 for Yan, Kozuka

Kovtun's out at 7th with the 2 americans, Who are looking unlikely to bring 3 spots

I think this was a pretty great SP,

Terrific from Verner, Fernandez and especially Machida

A gutsy performance worthy of a champion from Hanyu.

And on a personal note:

Alexei Bychenko from Israel is in the 2nd group at 12th !!!!!! :) :)

I think if Machida skates clean, he should win. But what do I know? ;) Nothing is certain, but I'm not so sure about Yuzuru becoming World Champion this year, aynmore.

Im pretty happy with the results, no obvious infatuations, I think the top 3 are all deserving of their scores, and I'm so glad that Yuzu only fell on his 4T (didn't pop thank god) and then delivered the rest of his program. The pressure must have been daunting, and he could have had a complete meltdown Here's hoping he follows his history and delivers a mindblowing LP  Maybe going into the LP as 3rd place would take a mountain load of pressure off his shoulders.

soooooo happy for verner, and javi. go european men.

love love love han yan since his junior day. best 3A ever. he is going to be a champion in the next couple of years!

The thing is, how many times this year has Yuzu landed that 4S? I would just assume that he'll do his usual fall and pop-up on the 4S and then skate clean.

I hope he's clean this time. His SP is a world record already so I can let it go. But his LP, I only need him to be clean at least one. ;)

Hanyu's BV in his FS was about 6-7 points higher than Chan's, If he somehow manages to deliver a clean FS he'll probably take it.

But then again, What if Fernandez goes clean with 3 Quads, Now that he has PCS around 9.00 ^_^ ?

But his PCS in Free Skate has not improved yet, hasn't it?

If Fernandez goes clean and gives energy in his performance, I have no problem with him winning, with that tech content.

I'm really happy that so many skaters are still in medal contention, also gold. Last year's London had Chan with a similar score like Machida and nobody was able to catch him anymore, which made everything a bit boring. I like it when everything still seems possible in the LP.
