I don't know who you are talking about. The kid or Denis Ten? I guess it's Yuzuru, then.
Anyways, anyways I said Denis Ten was "composed", I meant to say his style, not his mentality. Denis Ten is very composed in his moves and jumps, result from a good training foundation of basic skills. I mean you can see the way Denis moves, spins or text off to the jumps...it's pretty much detailed and articulate when he is on, and it looks like textbook position because he has strong foundation. Yuzuru can learn these things, he can learn to have better moves and articulate positions like Denis Ten. But when will come that time I am not sure.
On the other hand, I bet no one could apply Yuzuru's moves to their own skating because the kid's style and techniques are built-in, it comes from the inside so it's impossible to teach. I guess that is what set Yuzuru apart from everyone esle, even though he lacks some foundation and basic skills to creat good lines and postures.
Even though I dislike R&J 2.0, I have to say I start to feel a sense of flow form his performance at worlds, a sign showing that he started to make the program his own. I hope he will have better training in basic skills. Ballet is a must if he wants to stop all the critique about postures.
I am strongly against all the ice shows recently and the craziness form Japanese media. I hope Yuzuru will finish all the ceremonies and ice shows as soon as possible and come back to Canada. JFS should know that he still have at least 6 seasons ahead? If he can maintain his health, he could even make it to 10 seasons on top and I hope to see that happen. He need times to train, not to make money for the JFS. They need to "wrap him up in cotton wool" like British commentators said. What JFS is doing now is nowhere near that.
Of course he wants to do show because he is still young and passionate, but seriously I think people in Japan are asking too much. He looks so tired in Osaka Ex. I hope he will get enough time for ballet and new program, because now he has to practice 2 new program for next season.
