echotpe, your comment made me smile. I guess we are spoiled by Yuzuru's "adorableness" (Yuzuru's category per newbiespectator in the diverse beauty of male figure skaters thread) that to see him as anything but is a bit jarring.

I like the idea with the swirls and the bling
but that giant chunk of illusion fabric on his belly and chest would have to go (far far far far far away. preferably to another planet.) and that weird neckline again... that was already the one thing I really didn't like about the R&J2 costume.
and personally I always think you have to be careful with the feathery stuff, because if you overdo it, it makes people look like half-plucked chickens... but that's just me

I think feathers are for atmosphere here, he looks like a badass black swan Feathers also emphasize the elegance but I would remove them too. Also rhinestones had better be removed from the butt part, for god's sake These fabric holes on his gut are quite ridiculous so let it go too... :disapp:
I would fix other things too but I like the general idea, yeah. Black is so fitting for him, it also emphasizes his figure

I wouldn't even have a problem with some bling on his booty... now this here on the other side (quite literally, I'm afraid)... yup, I'd probably put that bling on the no-no-list

It reminds me a bit of his "bling-on-black" 2009 Junior Worlds SP costume which like his training outfit lovingly follows every curve of his body. I guess this will be another costume to excite comment and debate what with the feathers and the peek-a-boos, etc.

Now I'm really dying to know the program he will skate this costume in.

Again thanks to all those who posted links! Amused how Yuzuru has aroused "animal" analogies: a mouse (by Tatsuki), a squirrel, a hamster, a cat (I agree because of his landings and his relaxed, loose style of skating), a swan.

He's just a beautiful boy. And that last picture link is rife with symbolism, the skating surface evokes the Japanese flag (white with that circle (spotlight) with a reddish cast) and Yuzuru is in the middle bowing with the Japanese flag in his hands. Thanks for sharing that lovely shot (the others are too) with us.
