I have a great respect about Eteri’s training skills and I’m a big fan of her personality as a whole. But judging by this pic. Julia looks like she lost weight or grew up a few sm. I don’t know the reason why she(16 years already girl) looks tinier and weaker than her training partner Sima (14 years old). They need to change her diet she can’t jump without strength in her legs.

I know that Yulia has already chosen music for next season but I recommend - for future - "Polish Roads". Great piece of music. Would be nice to watch this cute kid dancing to this one. Greetings from Poland, everyone!!!

Witaj Rafale! Polish Lipniata grow in numbers! :agree:

Yulia Lipnitskaya skating to greatest Polish soundtrack of all times?
To the intro song making viewers cry, before film even started?
I think I can live with it!:points:

Cześć Polacy~

Cześć Polacy!!! I agree, this is the best Polish soundtrack ever. Maybe ex aequo with 07, zgłoś się:-)

Being thin or not doesn't mean you're weaker or stronger.
I remember once, many years ago when I was on my 20, I lost in a summer many kilos.
I wasn't eating much but I was drinking orange&lemon&carrot juice all day long.
Never been better, stronger and healthier in my life. It was amazing.

She's definitely changing it from Mulan, then? Sorry, have been away on holidays and haven't been keeping up.

Yep. She listen to me.

Well she is wearing all black in that picture, which generally makes people appear thinner than they actually are.

Just because one person is rocking well-defined muscles and one person is not doesn't mean she isn't strong, everyone reacts differently to exercise and everyone requires a different level of strength to do something. Unless she starts having issues with her jumps I don't think they need to be overly concerned about lack of muscle definition.

Some people are thin as a rake but they are extremely strong, (Yuzuru) even stronger than well-fed people. About jumps, I think Yulia jumps have the distance and flow, not the height (same as Han Yan, a powerful jumper, his jumps are far across the ice but don't have great height). She can maintain the distance in her jumps and improve the height. It's up to their training, not about how much she eat.

This was taken 6 weeks ago.

If she can keep that intense gaze I think everything else will fall into place. Her strength is her character and her character is strength. I think it's part of the appeal. Such a tiny little thing having the power to project herself as something so big. I've noticed she has the ability to turn a rink into absolute silence like something is happening that is bigger than us and no one can turn away for even a second. It's quite possible that her ability to stun everyone into silence is the reason that they stand up and cheer at the end. It just builds inside until the end and everyone has to let it out. I'm sure a lot is admiration and respect too :)

Anyway she has always been tiny.

This was last year at the WC.

I'm very sure she is getting into top shape. The only thing I'm concerned for is if the drive is still there. She always had the goal of making the Olympics and getting a house for her and her mom. Check and check. Now she just has to prove that she belongs in the number 1 spot. It's going to be near impossible to replicate last season in terms of results. How will she handle it? No matter what....I'm going to be on her side pulling for the little Russian wonder kid that captured my imagination and always found a way to do things her way.

So we will get to see her SP very shortly but I read that she isn't skating her FS at the open public test skate. Will she be ready for the Japan Open which is FS only? If I remember correctly she only skated her SP for the public test skate last year too so probably not anything to be upset about.

I know all this I used to be a professional athlete what I ment in my post was that Yulia looks thinner now than last year! Maybe Eteri did it on purpose we don't know what kind of a plan they have for the next 4 years.

Now that you say about it, I am worried as well. But maybe she lost weight due to training and stress of the Olympics?

Hee hee

So I'm trying to find out what the new program is, but can't find the announcement! Please help ... ?

There is no announcement yet, regarding her new LP.

She said "Now we are going to try another option, which both Eteri Georgievna and I like, but we will wait for Ilya to come back to hear his opinion. He has a fine understanding of music, he creates vivid and memorable programs, and we want to continue working with him."

This is the interview with her, after the test skate: Yulia Lipnitskaya: Now I understand why people quit after Olympics
