Jason Brown and Adam Rippon, Two Amazing Skaters

Okay, here we go.

Jason:

It is abominably difficult to find a photo of Jason that adequately shows both his engine and a normal posture for him.

But this one seems pretty close, his back seems fairly straight. Jason has a torso that is fairly in proportion with his legs (I think anyway) and his rear end sticks out a bit, but he's not very big on the top. Here's another decent one, though now we're going back a few years.

Joshua:

Josh is taller than Jason, and he has a short torso and longer legs. I was hoping to find a decent recent photo but I had to go back to the 2012-2013 season to get a decent one. The longer leg seems to create a flatter engine, and he doesn't tend to arch his back as much as Jason, so it's not as pronounced.

Jeremy has a similar body type to Josh and I noticed that he has more or less the same shape engine, roughly.

Max

Max is the same height as Jason but has a longer torso and shorter legs. I imagine that the shorter legs - and therefore his shorter stride - has invited an increase in lower body power. Max also has a more powerful build in the upper body (at least visibly so).

Aside: it's almost as difficult to find a good pic of Max as it is of Jason.

Plushenko:

This is interesting because when he was younger, he had a lot of obvious power in the rear end. At Vancouver, there almost was no engine, he'd lost so much weight. By the time he was back for Sochi, it had rebuilt to an extent, but not as large as in his youth.

This post long ago stopped making sense so I'm going to shut up now.

I really appreciate ur hard work for this! :agree: :points: And yes, this subject is absolutely ridiculous but very entertaining!
But i mean this is an important subject when u think about how they need to stay fairly skinny but the more power u have usually means bigger behinds. But i must say at least figure skaters don't look like hockey players. The way they walk too.... it's like duck..

Thank you karne!!
Rear appreciation post!! Jason wins this round for sure, everyone can go home.
But Joshua and Max have nice behind, too. (:slink:Why the hell I am sounding like a pervert  )

I absolutely love this thread. Instead of devolving into warnings about a puberty monster or back-and-forth rantings about the judging inequities, it's turned into an academic discussion of men's butts. I love the euphemisms too - engines! Obvious power in the rear end! Bless you, karne! ;)

I'm completely serious. The humor here has given me a great start to me day AND I've been learning new things about how men's muscles develop. Makes sense!

;) Motorsport fan over here. The engine euphemism came to be while struggling to explain why the skaters look how they do to my father one night. Skaters are like Formula 1 cars - all that power comes from the rear.

:o:

Nothing wrong with Jason, however...I'd have to give it to Max in this category. I do consider his engine his...best asset. :o: Of course, I'm fond of Plushy's as well and honorable mention to Johnny Weir who even has a Tumblr devoted to his "badonkadonk." (nsfw-ish photo on the front page, fyi)

Oh yes, Max is also... Ahhh!!! I blame Karne!! This is not right! We shouldn't talk about these young men's behind. :bang:

Well, Karne did offer Plushy as well - so you could get... er... behind him. And, as Mr Mishin stated, he is "very, very old", so that should be okay. ;)

 I am trying to refrain from making an appreciation thread about men discipline's behind, which is not the right thing to do but I wish I could...

While I appreciate karne's efforts, those are older pics of his and to be honest. . .I think Jason's engine has grown from last year.

Compare side by side of Broadmoor Open from 2013 and this year's. I think the engine looks upgraded. . .Actually think the rest got an upgrade as well. Struggled to find a decent shot that would show both the engine and face, but it was not easy with the black background. . . this was the best I could do without it getting weird.

It is fun to look at his video from 2013's Broadmoor performance then look at the one from this year right after. He looks like he has aged more than a year to me. He still looks like such a sweet little boy in last years. . . then suddenly adult. It's like women skaters get the puberty monster while guys get the puberty fairy. Im looking forward to seeing how he does with his upgrades.

As for Plushinko. . . I think his Sex Bomb exhibition belongs here. . .

I salute you for this most lucid, academic discussion of derrieres.

Maybe that's why Plushy, Brian, ect. won't retire? To give us some, er, options that don't come across as immoral?

Why not really? I mean they put a heck of a lot of work into their engines. . . why would they not want them to be shown off and admired. We are just appreciating their hard work.

These engines are earned, they are accomplishments they should be proud of!

The human form is beautiful, they put a lot of work into making their human form extra beautiful. I don't feel any shame or silliness in looking at and enjoying a lovely body and thinking about subtle differences, nor do I think it is wrong to enjoy looking. It's not like I am going to suddenly think i am entitled to grab their engine because I stare at pics of it.

Great screen grabs - it's so hard to find good photos that adequately show the engine! Yes, I think Jason has grown all over since last year. He looks broader across the chest, too.

Sex Bomb is always relevant. :p
