2014 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic

I'm with you. Our hobbies are a part of who we are and if folks trash our interests, they are somehow trashing us.
I used to have to defend my interest in skating (a lot), so I understand where you are coming from.

Except that this is the same person who on more than one occasion complained that Icenetwork should be FREE. Not even cheaper, FREE. This person is prepared to pay for a membership to a fanclub of a band - and to pay more than what IceNetwork costs, but thinks they shouldn't have to pay for a SERVICE that employs cameramen, commentators, journalists, producers, and other assorted folk and provides a solid, steady access to the biggest FS comps of the season. Sorry, that grates on my nerves.

I am off to watch Max's skate in full now.

I  this program already. Can't wait to see what it looks like with a bit more mileage and some more energy as a result. Also a big smile would be great.

Jumps were good for this point in the season - not concerned about the whoopsie on the 4S, the fact that he still tacked a 2T on the end is good. 3A was divine and 3Lz was excellent. Spins are good. That step sequence is going to be loads of fun later.

And his hair is...growing on me. It's not horrible. Can't wait for Gladiator.

Maybe you should have made the argument about the cost of the service initially instead of insulting her musical taste. Compare it to skating and the criticisms Max gets because some don't feel his style is artistic. It can be hurtful when people look down on your artistic taste as somehow being inferior.

Hum, to be honest I like Max Aaron skating, but I think that theses days, he try to much to be something that he is not, this new SP is not Max Aaron personnality and I know that he will work hard to develop this style but I think that you cannot interpret a music that doesn't fit your personnality.

He should take a step behind and realise that the Real Max Aaron is in a program like TRON SP, this is the real Max!
I like that he will skate to Gladiator for the FS.

I think that this will be a successful program for him. It match better his personnality.

Quick glance through protocols, and it looks like technically it was a tough early season event for quite a few skaters.

Thanks golden411 for all information (here as well as in many other threads  ) Will there be no videos from this event because Icenetwork has all rights? Curious to watch the men, especially Jordan Moeller, who I cheer for since junior worlds

I actually thought that when Max fell in the goal crease after the twizzles that maybe it was supposed to happen. I really had to rewatch it a few times because it blew my mind. That was the strangest fall i think I've ever seen.

He had a pretty good outlook afterward and I enjoyed his post SP interview. Good luck to him this year.

it was a bit odd. . . sorta looked like he lost his balance, and kept trying to do footwork rather than getting his balance back.

EDIT after rematching right there until i could no longer listen to Kenny croak how he was totally loose, I think the hand down might be intentional, maybe with a leg kicking into the air somehow that in this case caused him to attempt break dancing on ice, he did have a fair amount of spin momentum on that fall. I love the little jog he does when he gets up. . . I wonder how much of that was planned and killing time to get back on the music.

I'm still a bit baffled as to what was supposed to happen (but I'm buying into your assesment) so I can't wait until I see footage of him skating that section clean later this season. Then I can say "ahhhh....now I see how that could happen". Most importantly will there be the little jog dance after...which I actually enjoyed TBH. :points:

Go Max!!

He should add the jog even if it was improvised. I really like the spins leading up to that part. . . his hair worked well for that part. Very curious what was supposed to go on.

Alexandra Aldridge and Daniel Eaton are blogging from Salt Lake City Utah on Ice-Dance.com hope you enjoy or go to their face book page.

It was a really weird fall, wasn't it? Oh dear. But he got up grinning and playful which is always good to see.

On the flip side, by the way, that edit of Footloose makes me cringe.

Grrr, really annoyed at my internet. I attempted to watch both last night and today and my internet has just been complete crap for like 3 days now and IceNetwork isn't really working for me. I get about 5 seconds, it skips ahead, I see a few more seconds, etc. It's basically unwatchable. I had to go back this morning and watch the on demand video to see Max's performance. It's super frustrating because this is my first use of my new IceNetwork subscription, and I should have very nice, fast internet, but it just sucks for some reason.

Sorry for the venting, but I figure my fellow figure skating fans will understand my frustration. I really want to see the ladies' short but I'm wondering if I should just wait and watch it on demand tomorrow. Which seems a little ridiculous since I am sitting at home wanting to watch it, but the live stream just isn't working for me.

I saw a little bit of the ice dance short. I think i am already tired of paso doble music. I want to see them switch it up and do some gender-swapping with the matador/bull roles. That would be fun!

A/E and O/W with only.34 between them. ;) When it gets that close between couples is when I throw up my hands and say apples and oranges. I've liked both couples since they competed against each other in Juniors, and have watched their progress with interest. So I'm really looking forward to youtube. I've already been very impressed with O/W's development over last year at BC summerskate and like their paso a lot.

I also like C/BG very much and there's only .62 between them and C/M. could be a very interesting FD , even with so few couples.
