Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Thank you for the summary. I did google-translate the part you posted. It seems like the writer isn't completely certain of the representative's info. It really sounds worrying though... like it's a chronic problem.
To think he was planning that crazy layout this season. And stupid me was suggesting quad loop! :bang:
Reply from a poster called Geo1 from other forum:

It appears that Yuzuru is suffering from a herniated intervertebral disc and the prognosis was that if it did not improve with four weeks rest, they would have to consider surgery. He had been experiencing low back pain for quite some time, but he had persevered because of the Olympics.

The right ankle injury that he had sustained two years before had not completely healed, so he had not been in perfect condition when he competed at the Olympics and World Championships. Participating in the ice shows prevented recovery from his injuries.

The caption under the cut off photograph in the article says: "Should Yuzuru Hanyu have taken the season off like Mao Asada?
Oh no...surgery??? And the ankle!!! Omg!! he attended so many ice shows this summer. and he even practiced the quad loop!!!

God D: Is this really true ? this is horrible

This is very sad. Hopefully surgery is avoidable and we'll see him clutching for Pooh soon enough in the K&C.

This is terrible... herniated disc plus old ankle injury? (whenever I hear the words "herniated disc" and "surgery," especially together, I now have to suppress a shudder).

I can't believe he skated so many ice shows, attempting quad and triple axel there.

all these news are giving contraddictory informations - he rests/he's training - it's a cronic pain/it's a new injury. It would be good to listen to Yuzu's voice directly. what about NHK PR - CHOICE OF THE WEEK? Is it today? thanks in advance!

I AM SOOOOO SORRRYYY!!! for making people worried. I have been confirmed by a Japanese poster from another forum. Yes the blog entry was indeed just posted yesterday but the article might not be very new. Here is her reply:

Well, I read it in the bookstore a few weeks ago but I thought it didn't worth posting about it here so I didn't. In the end of this article, what do you guyts think this article said about Yuzuru? It said, "He has no one but himself to blame", meaning that he was blinded by the power of money of the shows. I knew the intention of the article in that sentence and I lost trust in it.

I usually trust information which includes; Yuzuru's comments, official statements by JSF, comments of people Yuzuru has relationships in real (I also want their names), the articles of notable writers, etc. As far as I know, most of the Japanese fans are not panicking about this article, and as the writer in the blog said, some fans didn't even read it. It's free whether people believe it or not though.

I'm worry about his injury of course, but at the same time, I'll try not to be surprised if he is going to have surgery someday. He is an special athlete and I'm only a fan, I have nothing I can do for him so I just try to think positive and cheer for him

AGAIN: I am SORRY for all this. After thinking carefully, I do have the feeling that the article was indeed, too harsh towards Yuzuru and the credibility is questionable. So chill out, please!

The article has no reputable source, again, and it's pretty evident that it has an intent of discrediting Yuzuru. I wouldn't worry.

Meioma, it's not just this last article!! Don't worry!:)

Yuzu wrote a message about FT WD and then kept silent, while news are running. This is worrying to me.

Maybe he just don't care about that news ;)
I think so. He is so focused on his training now and I don't think he has time to surf the internet for what media especially some goosip magazines wrote about him or his injury. Not only him bus JSF all keep silent after the WD from FT. I think I will still be positive and look forward to his new programs. Just like what Javi said "Yuzuru has his own life." I think he knows what he is doing.

Yuzuru doesn't stride me as a guy that Google himself. He probably doesn't even know about those negative articles. And maybe that's for the best.

But I think we should learn a lesson from this and try to only use/post official sources and material from respected media.

Hope he is in good health and the injury has healed.

PD.
Maybe Yuzu should really hire a managet or public relations help.

Some update about the article, which is very credible IMO: http://astand.asahi.com/magazine/wrnational/special/2014101000018.html

From poster yude (the other forum)

Thank you for the link, ser22!! I could only read the first half of the article (the second half is not free as before), it was about the open practice in Toronto in summer. It said that he had perfect FS in run-through on the next day of the open practice, he succeeded in 4S, 4T(two times), 3A combo(two times).

And I want to point out before some fans become worry about this part,

And after that (it wasn't mentioned when), the doctor stopped, "Your back and waist has got worsen than before!"

I don't think the writer was there, the phrase must have been made up (even though the nuance must have been close). Hirono Aoshima's articles always tend to be exaggerated, almost like dramatic novels. Thus, they don't include "Who" and "When" clearly. It may work for a book like autobiography though (she was in charge of construction of "Aoi Honoo" and I think the book was great).

So it's true that his back is still hurting but he's still practicing. but it might be not severe or else the doctor might not let him step on the ice at all IMO. Let's hope for the best.
