source from BS Fuji TV tonight! There are some interesting clips about Yuzu made into gif by some uploaders:

(1) Kiss Nobu
(2) Play Kendama with Javier

Thank you echotpe and annca for posting the links. Oh! So Yuzu is not taking the subway and bus to the Cricket Club now?? Did he just got out from a parked car??

I think he has someone to drive him there now! Not unexpected since he is an Olympic champion plus he has asthma (and now other things)....Tdot city air isn't the cleanest, but maybe JSF just wants to 'bubblewrap' Hanyu as much as possible?

Maybe he was just driven there (in camera crew's car)?? So that he and camera team didn't need to take subway or go by bus. I don't think he had time to learn how to drive. It's really awesome if he has his own car and driver though! He can save time using the car. Free time for top athlete is a very precious thing :)

Maybe they did it for production, is easier to go with a film crew in car, than in the subway :D

I'm still worried, but it seems like he's healthy enough to train. His doctors wouldn't let him do that if he needed surgery... right?

I can't believe anyone would write "He only has himself to blame." Sure, maybe so many ice shows wasn't the wisest decision, but I doubt he did it 'cause he was greedy. He just won the Olympics at 19 and probably wants to visit his fans everywhere to celebrate with them.

Yes, the thing is the footage of his training 4Lo, 4T3T and 4S had been shot before the news about his injury from JSF was released official. So... I don't know. If his doctor said his back had gotten worse by that time (in the legitimate article above), then what about now?

Yuzuru has always felt indebted to his fans you know. So he always tries his best even in ice shows. When he was 17 he received about 500 mails from his fan from (some of them were from China) in which they encouraged him to continue skating despite the Earthquake and the damage to the ice rink. He replied every single of those mails and sent back to the fans, some fans even took photos of his replied mails and shared it on the Internet. He appreciates his fans very much. No wonder he was so committed to the ice shows this summer.

But nevertheless, even if he wants to push his limit, Brian Orser and his family will not let him do so. He wants to go to the next Olympic anyways, he is smart enough to take care of himself I believe so.

Let's hope next season no one will invite him to ice shows ;) I don't like that he is doing so many of them

Yeah, I suspected that about the footage, though I wasn't sure (seems pretty obvious in hindsight, since there's no way they could've filmed it that fast, but my brain wasn't working).

I didn't know about how he responded to every letter after the earthquake. That's just... heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. I... well, I don't have the words to express myself properly.

To be honest, I can understand the ice shows, as a way to connect with his fans. I just don't understand why he went for 4T and 3A in so many performances. That just seems like extra, unneeded strain... I doubt anyone cared whether he jumped 3T or 4T in a show. Perhaps I've mentioned this before, but: I'm not sure I like this trend of going for quads in show performances. I don't remember Yagudin/Plushy/Goebel doing this back in the day, despite their solid quads. I'd rather people stay injury-free so I can see them in competition the next season.

Orser wasn't there for the shows though, right?

Speculation is no good, why won´t we wait and see? There is a month before Yuzuru´s season start, so is no long.

And if this guy is really his doctor, he shouldn´t be talking to the media. Unless Yuzuru, and since Yuzuru is still a minor under Japan law, his parents allow it.

This line of coments with out prove is only helping in worring people.

I don't understand why you're talking as if a doctor actually said those words. That portion of the article sounds like this:

[...] he was facing towards the first match of the season, Finlandia Trophy, but that day --

"Your back, it's gotten worse than before hasn't it?"

As expected, he put his training on hold on doctor's orders.

My translation skills are poor, but I think you can understand that the author was not actually quoting anyone in particular but that he just made it up to 'romanticize' the narration -- it was just meant to sound like something that his doctor 'might' have said. I thought Yude explained it well.
The figure skating "articles" that appear on Webronza, including this one, are actually columns, and of course as such they are subjective -- they contain the author's opinions, his writing style... etc.

My very humble suggestion is that you stop scouring the web for these articles, as every one you will find on the web is only going to be based on pure speculation or else, the writer's own opinion, as we have seen already on more than one occasion. The only use it has is spreading panic.

Well, I live in Toronto, so I know the air is not bad at all. It is unlikely that he got himself a driver as well. However, it is possible that he can afford to buy a car and let his mom drive him there. This is only one of many possibilities though. ;)

You have a point. Perhaps that was the case. :)

What do you mean our city air is not the cleanest? The area he is in is not industrial at all and is largely residential!

Oh my goodness... Yuzu is an elite athlete and nearly 20 years old! He is an adult who can take care of himself and make his own decisions. I think it highly possible he has his own car and can drive. I haven't personally been to Toronto but it doesn't look that bad to me. Really it's not that big of a deal, is it?
He didn't take much of a break after the competitive season so now he has taken some time for his back to rest. He'll be fine people! Please give him credit for being the bright guy that he is.

Just to defend my city ;) and the area of the CC (which I've passed by literally thousands of times), Toronto is one of the greenest big cities in the world with our really large tree canopy. And the CC isn't even downtown but up north, so it's actually even cleaner. I would even venture to say the air is probably cleaner here than the major cities in Japan that I've been to (especially Tokyo).

Thank you everyone for all the links to videos and stuff! About 100 pages back I was wondering if the thread would hit 700 before his first competition, and looks like I'll be right :laugh:

Absolutely, I agree.

I do not see why it should be considered the article to be true, that only when it can be overdone. JSF has not communicated anything officially. They probably are aware of the condition of Yuzu. They say it will be okay Cup of China, then surely they are right.
The JSF surely will monitor the condition of Yuzu.
Unnecessary panic.

Thank you emdee and shingalas. We know we have lots of trees around us and our air is clean. :agree: The Cricket Club is surrounded by trees and houses with big lots. The area is pretty nice indeed.
