2024 World Junior Championships Men's Free Skate

But at least they HAVE them.

Exactly!

You never know, somebody out there might be interested in finding out more about them. And don't know where to find what they want.

That's why I am still updating the profile for one of my skaters with new video links, even thought she retired 10 years ago. And even though all the new videos have nothing to do with skating. (She has admitted that she didn't like skating. It was her Mum that wanted to be a skater, and was living out her dream through her daughter).

Duhamel Radford were not retired when nobody would cheer for them. Really, world champions and winner of olympic medals of every colour and when still active.. barely any posts.. I think i talking with myself in that thread. Nothing to do with retirement

I feel like I'm talking to myself with a lot of my Fan Fests. But, as I say, there may be people out there that are reading but aren't participating, So, I continue posting anyway.

how many of your fan fests are of world champions and 3 times olympic medalists ? I am not saying less successful skaters do not deserve fans but it's uncanny that such amazing athletes never received much love from fans.

They are working on it. A few years ago, he won Junior Nationals... His jumps were so much better... then he broke his ankle. Last year he was only 3rd at junior nationals... then he was popping everything until he did super well at Nationals. As you saw, this is by far, his best outing. I don't know if he will ever get the big jumps... but he is working on them and has tons of other qualities.
Hope he gets at least a 3A plus some higher-BV 3-3s before he moves up, he could have a fighting chance then

I have a set of World Champions at Junior level:

  • Anna DUŠKOVÁ / Martin BIDAŘ (CZE), the 2016 Pairs Junior World Champions

And if we are counting the EYOF, I have two Olympic Medallists at Junior level:

  • Sonia LAFUENTE (ESP), the 2007 EYOF Ladies Champion
  • Anne Line GJERSEM (NOR), the 2009 EYOF Ladies Bronze Medallist

I am not saying less successful skaters do not deserve fans but it's uncanny that such amazing athletes never received much love from fans.

It is a puzzle. And I don't know the answer.
