We now move to the ISU Entries / Results page for the rest of the day, which is spent in the company of the Advanced Novices.

Because there are so many girls entered, they have been split into two competitions. And the boys go in between the two girls competitions.

We have 25 girls in the B competition; followed by 8 boys; followed by 14 girls in the A competition.

Aha! A skater I am familiar with. Anna RUIS (AUT)

I think I am correct in saying that it is just Anna and Daniel that are competing here, and both of them just in Singles. (Do they do Pairs any more?) I didn't spot Leo or Natalie's names anywhere.

She goes into 4th position. Just 0.07 points behind Anastazja BUCHCZYK (POL)!

That is going to be an exciting battle come the Free Skate!

What? Are my eyes deceiving me? Do we really have THREE Canadians in Group 2 alone?!

And then another in Group 3!

Well done to Skate Canada for letting them loose for a change!

Right, we have reached the interval, and there is one more group of girls to go.

We have had all the Canadians, and they are currently:

1st Lia CHO
2nd Ksenia KROUZKEVITCH
4th Camila VOLKOVA
10th Uxia GONZALEZ-ABRALDES

Uxia had a fall early on in her programme. The others went clean.

And we have a North American Top 4, as the skater in 3rd splitting the Canadians is Hannah KIM (USA).

I'm not sure if I am going to see all of this group. And one of the skaters I am liable to miss is the one I actually wanted to see.

Skater #22, Nadia IGNACZAK (POL), is the sister of the girl that won the Silver Medal in Advanced Novice Solo Dance, Lena IGNACZAK (POL). And after seeing her sister, I am curious to see how Nadia gets on.

I'm also curious to see if Lena joins Nadia in the results area. Because, having seen one photo of them together, I have a suspicion that they might be twins. So I want to see them together again.

She is wearing a black dress with red slash on the skirt part.

After not seeing a "Tango Amore" programme for ages, this was the second I have seen today!

She was good! I really enjoyed that.

No Lena. She just has a coach with her.

She goes into 19th position.

I think I'll can fit in one more skater before I leave for food.

I’m so happy Lia is in first place after the SP. She is Canada’s ice princess. I’m assuming she landed 2A, 3F and 3Lz 2T.

Lia, despite being a Novice age skater, is our Canadian Junior Champion. Ksenia, also a Novice skater, is our Canadian Junior silver medalist. Both these skaters can sponge in this international experience prior to competing in the JGP circuit for Canada.

That is good to know about the livestream. Usually I pause the stream and then watch the performances I want to see during breaks at work. With this competition, I’m going to be forced to watch it LIVE. If someone calls, during Lia’s skate, it will go to voicemail

Yeah…. These Canadian Novice skaters only get one international competition every season and they need to do well at their respective Nationals, to even make it out to this one international competition.

I get jealous when I see European skaters again and again in so many internationals.

And we finish the day, and the Advanced Novice SP segments, with our second girls competition. 14 of them this time.

Kinda funny that they are playing "Another One Bites The Dust" while introducing the judges and officials! Is this a sign...?

And the North American domination of the Advanced Novice SP competitions has been completed.

Here's the Top 3 from the second of the girls SP segments:

2nd Kaya TIERNAN (USA)
3rd Maelia RUEL (CAN)

You know, as somebody who knows a lot of Quinns, I had to laugh at how the announcer pronounced Hannah's name. He called her "Hannah Queen". But, as it turned out, he was right. She was Queen today!

Mind you, there is less than half a point between her and Kaya. So she will have to really fight to keep her crown.

An earlier start today, but ironically fewer competitions. But that is because of them having bigger fields.

We also only have two Entries / Results pages in aaction. So, we have the first 4 competitions on the "Interclub" Entries / Results page, and then the rest of the day's competitions are on the "ISU" Entries / Results page.

And before the Advanced Novice Singles skaters complete their campaigns, we have our first Pairs competitions of the week!

But we start nwo with the youngest of the Bronze level skaters. A group of 5 U9 boys; followed by 32 U9 girls.

Now this is how you start a long day of skating off!

Skater #1 skated to "Another One Bites The Dust" by Queen, and then Skater #2 skated to "The Race" by Yello.

Mind you, the Yello programme could have done without the vocals. "The Race" is epic as an instrumental.

Skater #2 goes into the lead.

Oh. My. Goodness!

Skater #3 was skating to a really epic orchestral piece. As it went on, I realised that I was recognising bits of the music. But I couldn't place what it was. And it was only towards the end of it that I realised what it was.

It was the music from the Super Mario games!

It sounded so different played by a full orchestra!

I probably would have twigged sooner if he had been dressed as either Mario or Luigi. But he was wearing a silver shirt and black trousers.

He goes into 3rd position.

The boy with the Yello programme won by a country mile.

The first of the four groups of girls are now doing their Warm-Up.

And the start list has been updated to show that the first skater has withdrawn.

It is only now that the girls are over that I have realised that there was one international skater in the field. A Hungarian girl, who started at #5.

She won.

Now onto the Silver U11 competitions. First up, and taking us up to the next resurfacing, are a group of 4 boys.

We now complete the Interclub part of the event with the Silver U11 girls. 32 girls, spread over 4 groups.

There are two international skaters. A Hungarian, and a Lithuanian. And we have already seen one of them. The Hungarian, who is in the opening group starting at #5, finished 4th in Basic Novice Solo Dance.

I felt so sorry for her, losing out on a Bronze Medal because of these new rules in Solo Dance. So, I hope she does well today.

Ooooh. We have a Hungarian spy in our midst.

Skater #5 was doing a James Bond programme, starting with "Goldeneye" by Tina Turner, and then moving to the main theme.

She was wearing a beautiful black dress, perhaps with a bit too much illusion mesh down the front of it for a girl of her age. And she had a holster on her leg (still wish Camille hadn't got rid of her's).

I think she had two falls.

But, it was an enjoyable programme. When it is done clean, it will be impressive!

Oh, it's not Nóra Hoffmann sitting with her this time. It's a younger coach. And I think that is the winner of this morning's Bronze U9 competition with her as well, because she has a medal hanging around her neck.

She goes into 3rd position.

It's already looking like a big ask for her to win a medal today. There are a lot of skaters to come.

Just to complete the story. The dream was ended straight away when the very next girl, Skater #7, went into the lead.

I should add, Skaters #4 and #6 were withdrawals.

And I meant to comment earlier. The first two skaters were both called Matylda. And would you believe, neither of them skated to "Waltzing Matilda".

A real missed opportunity...
