2015 World Team Trophy Mens SP Apr 16

Unfortunately, not that random...he's been flirting with his lutz edge for years. If he was a little tired today, or fractionally off-kilter...I've actually expected him to get more !s this season than he has.

On i know...but it looked fine in real time and he hasn't even gotten an edge call since like 2012 JGPF, so it seems odd the judges are being picky now.

Jason got a SB for that? Really? His jumps are not as good as they can be, and he messes up a spin. Yet 42+ PCS gifted him SB. WTH.

Right. Time for bed, and hope there'll be video of Max when I wake up.

Yuzuru got SB with his skate as well. I suppose judges were happily throwing points at their favorite skaters.

I guess nobod cares for WTT to be a "serious" competition. Not that in serious competitions scoring never makes people rise eyebrows.

I only wish it didn't count for season's best scores. But it doesn't have much bearing unless you're at the bubble for GP assignments.

If it's a fun competition it shouldn't count like GP/ISU championships...

..

But then they'd have no ground to stand on when demanding the countries' best skaters to participate, I guess.

Yeah, that's the point. Top skaters are tired after a long season. Then you technically "demand" them to go for another team competition, obviously you have to give them something in return, money and SB if they do well.

When you're a judges pet you're a judges pet

you dont have to like a skater but saying that is harsh, his jumps seemed a bit tight but overall i think he deserved his PCS

as much as i looveee yuzuru 46 for PCS is high , i agree with his TES and GOEs though, and placements are right in my opinion and thats what matters as so many said

I'd think the money would be enough...

It can be a nice redemption for those who cared poorly at worlds.

How did he mess up a spin? Haven't watched the whole thing yet

The spins looked fine to me. There is that one spin that has that position that kinda looks like a mistake though. The one where his hand is really close to the ice..

Thanks! Yeah that has been mentioned before. He got all level 4 and okay scores so I guess there was no mess-up

Sorry for the late replies - food was needed!

It's not stopping the others (even from other countries) from getting in the team spirit... and she really didn't have much to be annoyed with, other than being a tiny fraction of a point out of 1st. I am concerned for her going into the free skate, as she has rarely shown any emotions like this all season.

Don't worry, I agree that Liza didn't have much to be annoyed with. As I said before her scores came up, even with the fall, I would have put her in the lead.

But, I do share your worries. Everybody has been talking about this 3A for the past month or two, and because of that I think Liza is putting too much pressure on herself to get it. Getting it seems to be all that matters to her at the moment. And she is beating herself up if she doesn't.

She just needs to relax a bit, and things should come more easily. I had hoped the fun atmosphere of the WTT would help do this, but revealing that she planned to do a 3A in both segments has ended up putting more pressure on her.

Someone need to prepare her a box to stand on!

Yes, that would work. The thing is, it would be highly embarrassing for her to have to stand on a box.

Let's face it, jumping up and down, flapping your wings frantically in the hope that it would help you see the screen, is just so cute that you totally forget the fact that it is embarrassing for the poor girl!!!

Anyway, back to the men. Is it just me, or does anybody else think it is really sad to see Song Nan at the bottom of the field?
