That's the understanding about the panda exchange of China. Any panda cub that's born automatically belongs to China and must be shipped back for breeding purposes after a certain point. Plus any adult panda received by zoos go back after ten years. The zoo pays a $1 million per year and the zoo gets pandas and cute panda cubs (temporarily). Pandas are endangered but popular so this is the arrangement.

Yes, they have to go back and are quite expensive to keep. There are more serious causes for the money. But there is also something that money cannot buy.
I live near the zoo and feel very close to them... Beibei is the youngest, 1 year old panda cub. (he was born when I moved to the city). He will have to leave in a few years like his sister, Baobao... but I enjoy watching him grow.. (stalking/watching a live panda cam is my hobby...)
Updates: Beibei had too much hard and raw bamboo, so he went to surgery to take it out of his stomach two days ago. He is recovering nicely, now eating softened food(i.e. sweet potatoes, a slice of apples,biscuits,,,all his favorites).

Since a skater's physical maturity impacts the acquisition of skill sets as much as, or more than, his age, I'm not sure why you're making the distinction, unless it's to applaud wunderkind simply for being first. That doesn't matter much to me.
Frankly what concerns me far more than whether Jason's window of opportunity may be closing is the 50-point drop in his scores from SA to NHK; he's generally consistent and a great competitor, but this past weekend he fell apart for no obvious reason.
Finally, sorry, but I gotta disagree: Jason is a late bloomer. He was tiny at 15 (see below) and has always gotten jumps later than his peers; in fact when he won JGPF in 2011 at 16, he hadn't yet acquired a 3A. If you look at pics from Sochi (below) you'll see he's finally taller but still quite thin and narrow shouldered; it wasn't until after that that he started to look like an adult:

During the SA FS, The Finnish commentator actually made a point of talking about how much Jason has grown physically in the past year. He said that he's no longer so "colt-like" as he used to be.

YES!!!!!!!!!!! This sounds like a great idea and something that Max can really relate to. I would love to see him back on top of the podium at Nationals but, I didn't think his programs were going to match those of Adam and Jason. He has more fire power than Adam and Jason, and it's the component mark that can help him stay ahead of Nathan if they both skate perfectly. I'm still shocked at the depth of the Men this year.

Ahhhhh, Super Exciting!!! This has the potential to be world class for Max. Short, crisp movements alternating with strategic longer lines. I think this might just be the match he's been searching for. Very much looking forward to its Nationals debut!!!

I think if Max is successful with this new SP, he (hopefully) will use it to build for next season. I've never understood why so many skaters don't use short programs for more than one season, anyway. The goal with the SPs has always been mainly about hitting the required elements. Plus, it must save them some $$$$.

As long as Max doesn't have a costume like what Evan Lysacek wore for his Espana Cani SP for FOUR seasons, I think I will be fine with whatever he wears.
This opinion may make me disliked on here, but I don't believe that skate gods exist. But I will admit that what happened with Evan during his 2006 Olympic SP made me ponder about them a bit.

Thank goodness, I doubt it will look like that. Plus, Evan was tall and lanky, and Max is little and powerhouse, they'll have to go a different route.
This being Max, I imagine it will be mostly black, though.

Evan's that costume for the SP is good on him. I wonder how come his good fashion sense was lost during the Vancouver season.
Max made a good decision on changing the SP.
The grand classic piece was not working well for him at all. Instead of classic bullfighter costumes, abstract designed costumes would be good for him.
