Evgenia Medvedeva

The difference between Evgenia and the other athletes is the method, coach skills, not the amount of hours she put in training, wich i suppose is almost the same as the other skaters.

Nobody think the other skaters works less hours a week, they simply don't reach the same reults 'cause Medvedeva works better.

So, for the same reason, if she want to improve, she need to work better, not more.

Well, please keep in mind language difference, when I translate 'more', it doesn’t necessarily mean to have "longer" training sessions. Think it implies work harder, but as well not aesthetic meaning. Here by 'more' I think she means better as you say, it could include intensity of training, focus, simply more skating runs of programme or whatever they usually do. Basically, she means, she need to work ‘better’ if you wish.
 
Sorry, but the competition with Zagitova has not helped Medvedeva... it's causing her to to some unnecessarily really stupid things in her program. I defended the tanos but the rippons look extremely ugly. I found her LPs a bit boring after the step sequence(last year was ok) and it's gotten worse. Eteri and Averbukh should frankly be ashamed of the direction they're taking her. Medevedeva's LP is sterile, directionless, meaningless, charmless and glamourless. It's the worst LP of her's ever. She may win the Olympics, but nobody is going to care with this program.

I hate to be mean, but I find it practically criminal the direction they're taking her in this LP.

At the Olympics, I'd like to see again her program from first senior season. That program was awesome and very musical.

But let's wait at least Japan Open. There for sure all videos will be in high quality. She will be more prepared. Because for now it's too early to judge.

Let's just agree to disagree. )))

I was sceptical at the beginning about this program but I see already improvement in one week from Sochi to Bratislava. And people who were actually there wrote very good reviews about it.

And I love rippons way more than tanos but that's just a matter of personal taste perhaps.
 
I mean yeah rippons over tanos any day for me. And her FS usually peaks later in the season so I did not make up my mind on it yet but I see potential.
Can't wait for Japan open :hap85:

You went too far with your personal taste ... People should stop trying to make their subjective opinions into facts.

The music is perfect and I like how it constantly builds up! Both new programs focus on allowing her body and movements to just exist with and respond to the music in an impressive way. Lots and lots of beautiful moments in this program. Love the spread eagles. Amazing stsq. She also uses her upper body and hands pretty well.
It is a new program and it's not going to be perfect from the first time. While the SP is obviously ready, the FS is not. She may be consistent but she's a human being. It should feel unfinished because it's unfinished and it's new! moreover, Evgenia said they're going to work and add more on this program.
But I feel like her FS has potential to be an iconic program.
Overall I'm very happy about the two new programs and two new dresses.
 
As far as for Zhenya's programs. I, of course, watched the videos but they are either too far away or too close up so I haven't watch it carefully. I was hoping that Ondrej Nepela Trophy would provide a much clearer video but they didn't and are even worser than in Sochi. Therefore, I think we should hold all our judgements of the FS and wait for the HD video at Japan Open. Plus, she got level 3 on stsq and even Zhenya said that her team will make changes to the program, so we should really wait for the final result.

I think the same .The videos are not clear at all, especially in stsq, the camera cut the feets. She is strong and I think she will be better in each season, as the she did in the past (progressively improve ):)
 
I do agree with the opinions above, we simply need to wait for better quality of the FS video. It is a new program where she completely changed her layout and element, so we need to give it more time.
Also, I think team Tutberidze have a good taste and they always polish little details to make it perfect.

P.S. I know everyone has a different taste, but you can't denied that Zhenya is beautiful in FS, movements are beautiful, just not perfect yet.
Also on my opinion, program has a very strong and clear message: keep faith, overcome your fears and make a first step to your dreams!
I mean this is very clear to me at least. And I like it, no drama, no tragedy, but simple and strong message for Olympic season! Go Zhenya!:hap10:

I was there and I really enjoyed it. The audience did as well. Evgenia was welcomed with loud cheers when she was announced, and also during and after the program. I could also see the difference in skills between Evgenia and the other competitors.
(By which I mean that there were some really good skaters, but Evgenia just seemed to bring that little extra).

She was nervous, and I think that this program will be much more polished in a few months and after more competitions.
