(and makes me think of a Zebra cartoon with an apple) Huh? William Tell overture creative and different? Is there any more over-exposed music? I hope Stephane doesn't end up reminding judges of Saturday morning cartoons.http://www.stephanelambiel.ch/journal/?p=419
Overtüre from Willhelm Tell (by Rossini) for the short program!!!! Thank you, Stéphane, thank youuuuu! I would have forgiven him a warhorse, or elevator music - but I am very glad that there is nothing to forgive, this music choice is brilliant, creative, different.(and makes me think of a Zebra cartoon with an apple)
It's definitely not overused in skating - it was sometimes used as a part of an Opera / Operette - medley so far in skating, but not too often. And the last program with this kind of ta-da music was Lysacek with Carmen among the men, so I think it's quite different.Huh? William Tell overture creative and different? I'm pretty sure Laura Lepistö is using the same SP as last season (Imagined Oceans by Karl Jenkins). Rumour has it her LP will be a tango, I sure hope not though as that's pretty similar to the Don Juan LP she's had for the past two seasons. She should try something really different, maybe a waltz or some piano music. I think she'd do well with Elgar's Cello Concerto or Sibelius' Valse Triste, plus, in the case of the latter, it's nice to pick music from your home country in an olympic year.

Stephane is eligible, because he's ranked 21st in the world (one behind Dai, and just ahead of Adrian Schultheiss). But he didn't announce his decision in time, so he got no assignments. Still, he could get invited for a TBA spot or if someone WDs.I'm joining in the debates a bit late but surely Medusa will know - will Stephane be doing any of the GPs?
Wasn't their LP last year to Spartacus? now Shez? booo...getting sick of that music already...Evan's LP is Shez too :/
Nobunari's blog said:I returned home!
Good evening, Nobunari here!
I returned from America last week. The training in July was dedicated mainly to the creation of new programs. Now that the programs are completed, I will practice and improve them day by day.
My short program this year will be Liszt's music played by Maxim (Mrvica). My free will be skated to a Charlie Chaplin medley.
My SP is very fast, so I'll have to do my best not to lose to the music! I really wanted to skate to the music of my free program, I think that the atmosphere of the music makes it really fun to skate.
In August I plan to dedicate myself to strength training.
This time it was short, but I'll update again soon! Until next time,
Nobunari
The Kid, The Chaplin Revue, The Rink, The Gentleman Tramp, Charlie's Dance... A lot of great tracks to choose from, in all flavours: from lyrical, through grandiose, to comical. Shawn Sawyer kept his LP from last year (I watched the men's free skate earlier today), which is set to the "Amadeus" soundtrack.
