2014-2015 GPF Mens Short Program 12/12

sorry for the offtop, but strange thing came to my mind watching this that Jeremy Abbott could do something interesting with Bolero...<IKnowImAWeirdo...>
You are definitely not a weirdo for that. I am all  just thinking of that. He's the only one I would voluntarily watch skate to that lol!

I just had a hilarious vision of Kovtun skating Liza's SP choreo instead of his....hip waggles and blown kisses and all.

OMG thank you for this mental picture lol! I needed that after all the bad judging today!:agree:

PCS
  1. Yuzuru HANYU 43,97
  2. Tatsuki MACHIDA 42,50
  3. Javier FERNANDEZ 40,96
  4. Maxim KOVTUN 40,08
  5. Sergei VORONOV 38,58
  6. Takahito MURA 38,37

This is very disheartening to hear but also sadly not all that surprising. I lived in Moscow for a time. It's an incredible city and the people are beautiful, but also unfortunately there's about zero diversity, even in a big metropolis, and it enables a great deal of ignorance about racial and sexual sensitivity.

Yeah. I know it's more ignorance than true bigotry but he still has a history of being quite nasty.

Takahito ended up with -0.03 total GOE, Javier & Maxim both got less than +1...

On Instagram and Twitter (he uses n***** quite often). And I had to check again, but he said Dai skated like a f** a few years ago. I remember hearing how he insulted a lot of skaters in 2012 but didn't see any tweets myself.

What? Wow. I think I'll change my opinion about him a bit... :slink:

There is nothing wrong in Yuzuru scoresheet. Everything looks fine, so I don't get any comments about overscoring on this. Better rewatch his SP. Superb performance overall :)

Yeah. I know it's more ignorance than true bigotry but he still has a history of being quite nasty.

And it's definitely not forgivable. He should know better being someone who has traveled the world and encountered many different cultures/peoples. And to make statements like that on such a public platform... I'll stop now I'm afraid I'm starting to hijack the thread.

If only Kovtun could skate more like Daisuke, then I might like watching him. So his insult was sadly misplaced.

The judges were all over the place scoring Voronov's interpretation: one 9.00, one 6.50, one 6.75 and so on. Similar stuff on transtions.

On Instagram and Twitter (he uses n***** quite often).
Oh come on, that's silly. I've even seen Serafima Sahanovich posting something like "me and my nigg*s" on instagram. I'm sure US is more sensitive to this, but he's not from US is he.

I'm surprise there's not a single +3 GOE for Hanyu's 4T (who gave him a +1?!). Thing was flawless. Maybe he needed to 'tano it like the juniors.

Looking at scoresheets. I agree with judging. the fall on the 3T only decreased the value of his 3Lz-3T by ~2pts and is essentially mitigated by half because of Hanyu doing the combo in the 2nd half. That and the amazing GOE on his 3A and 4T o_o. His PCS, I think, is well-deserved.

Yes, he was overscored a bit but deserved his GOE and PCS. And 90 score.

I didn't want to start a polemic on that also because I didn't thought it was true, and actually I still don't... it seems a bit weird to me that nobody knew anything about it

Wow! Despite that 3 skaters had falls, looking at the scoresheet, NO ONE UR or had downgrades on their jumps!! Whoop whoop!!
