Hwi Choi was a talented single skater with difficult triples. Why has she switched to pairs?

I guess her JGP results weren't impressive to KSF? 8th and 11th.

Da Bin Choi was 5th and 4th.
Na Hyun Kim was 5th and 6th.

In the next couple of days, from 12/5-7, there is a ranking competition to determine representatives to certain competitions later this season (I believe it is 4CC and Winter Universiade based on an article I read, but I'm not too sure).

Pretty much all elite level Korean skaters are comepeting at this, so it's kind of a nationals preview, I suppose; notable entries: Park Soyoun, Kim Haejin, Kwak Minjung, Choi Dabin, Kim Nahyun, Kim Jinseo, Lee Junhyeong, Cha Junhwan)
Interesting points: there are 61 senior + 32 junior ladies entries in comparison to the 10 senior + 2 junior men's entries and 1 dance entry (Kim/Minov).

Park Soyoun: SP - 3s3t, 3lz, 2a clean, LP - 3s3t landing, 2a3t (pop on 3t), 3s stepout and then fall (?)
Lee Junehyoung: 3a fall, 3f3t landing, 3lz landing
Choi Dabin: clean LP runthrough with all clean 3lz3ts and 2a3ts
Byun Sejong: 3lz fall, 3t2t landing, 2a landing (did 3t3t in the warmup)
Kim Kyueun: 3t3t landing, 3lo landing, 2a landing. condition not too great

the men is a pretty deep field internationally. I guess he thought that it's better to go to pairs instead since it's less crowded when compared to the former. :think:
