Two Level 3 elements. The people who thought that she would beat her old record were know-nothing idiots anyway.
That's not true, and very rude. A new WR is not an insured score, but a likely, had Yuna been given the same inflation embedded as Yulia's Teams', which was the least of respect to judging we could've expected from this event.
There is no other way to describe the thinking that she would beat a world record she earned with an extra element worth about 4 points. Well other words might include "deluded" or "preposterous" if you prefer. I might add that if she hit all her levels, her max score would have been 84 points if she got 10s for PCS and +3 GOE on every element (and I am aware some of her fans think she deserves that, but we are not in her Fan Fests thread). Julia's overscoring is quite another issue. Yuna has not been "underscored" here in the slightest unless your definition of "underscored" is "not being overscored like the Russians" (who have not skated yet anyway).
Like I said, you must understand why some had considered a WR possibility. I agree Yuna's score alone was not an underscore. However, when we say fair judging, that means consistency, and when the high line is set, one of many options the audience can expect to compensate that outcome is to give the same benefit to all in follow up competitions - within the same Olympic event. Of course, since that is gone, now we can expect another option to unfold, which is to equally minimize the inflation on all skaters' scores - which I assume is what those people now expect to happen. On that behalf, you cannot just spit out names like "idiots", "deluded", or "preposterous" in the face.

Gracie was given the I am the reigning American champ bonus marks. There is no way she should have a score close to her SB score with that skate. Her 3/3 even received +GOE! And her 2A only got a -.21. Any other skater having the same kind of issues would not receive the same kind of score.

Agreed. She had two very obvious shaky jumps, average flexibility and positions in her spin, received +GOE and scored the closest to Yuna!:disapp:

I see the Russian crowd is acting in its usual restrained, sportsmanlike manner for their performers already...and they haven't even taken the ice!

Johnny, Tara, and even Tanith all say how shaky Gracie was and some of you don't want to acknowledge that she at least got a generous score?

Dick can be a grade a ***** and it is not becoming. Critique is one thing, ***** critique another.

excellent picture - GO USA!!!!! we rock!!!!!! we are the best!!!! A jewish guy is judging??? I really hope there is nothing given to those russians. Adelina and Julia are great though they have many more years to reach Yu Na and Mao

So what if a Jewish guy is judging?

hmmmm why Yuna's step sequence is level 3? while Suzuki got level 4 with +1.30? BBC commentators also pointed out Yuna's step sequence is a strong level 4. -_-
