2014 Olympics Ladies Short Program

I have a bad feeling about this already. Two of the three technical specialists are Russian? Sorry, but if Julia and Adelina are unfairly judged all the cries of fowl will be valid.

You mean foul? Of course it's very likely that the tech panel will favor the Russian skaters given how they judged the team event. I already take that to be a given, TBH. But they can't be VERY obvious going about it, can they? Particularly in this day and age of internet and digital camera.
I expect that none of the non-Russian skaters will get any lenient calls, though.

I thought there was just one russian on the technical panel?

Go Brooklee!!!!!!!!!!

(Well, the rest of you are blathering rubbish, I may as well keep repeating myself.)

Mhm, there was a tweet with bad news it seems:
OMG, just heard in TV that Akiko has injured her toe finger in Jan, jumps inconsistent since then. She left this morning's practice in tears

It might explain why she was so cautious in the Team event :cry::cry:
Not sure if someone can confirm it further though...

I will be very upset if Julia isn't called for her flutz while Mao gets an undeserved underrotation call on her beautiful 3a or Yuna is unfairly called for her beautiful 3F.

Oh, no!! Akko! I dearly hope that the report is wrong.

Well, I am tired, and the SP is still four hours away, and I have to go to work tomorrow. Therefore, it is bedtime.

So I shall get in some extra before I go, in an attempt to counter the inevitable teeth-gnashing.

Go Brooklee!

Go Brooklee!

Go Brooklee!

Go Brooklee!

I fully expect this thread will be well over 100 pages when I get up.

I'm really hoping the reports about Akiko being injured are not true.
I would not want any athlete to train four years for the Olympics only to have an injury ruin their chances.
Wishing the best for Akiko

Yeah, it's just my dream ,

completely agree :agree:

You guys are too cruel, your dream is hideous and your crusade is a heartless torture upon the ISU!
Can't you hear the panicky scream of terror among the judges? Don't you have any sympathy for them?

i'm so nervous for yuna and mao i think i might hurl a little

hope there's a glitch in the baby russian robot's motherboard and she messes up a little bc yall know these judges would give yulia pcs in the elevenses if they were allowed to

Was the ladies Olympic thread this long prior to the actual competition back in 2010? :p

Ladies SP Tech Panel (same as Team Ladies SP Tech Panel)
Ref - Barbacci-Levy - SWI
Tech Controller - Lakernik - RUS
Tech Specialist - Gusmeroli - FRA
Asst. Tech Specialist - Baranova - FIN

All Russian Tech specialist panel?

Only 1 Russian. It's the exact same panel as the ladies team SP or so I'm being told, never actually looked to verify:slink:

Poor Akiko  I'm wishing her the best I hope it's not too serious. Good luck to Yuna, Mao, Kanako, Carolina, and my baby Li! I hope they skate cleanly and that Li gets into the top 10 and I'm sad that I'm missing the event for school but I'll catch up on it later. Scared for the wars that are about to happen after this event is over :slink:

holy cow...33 pages already? And even the competition isn't started...?? Yeah, this thread will be something else :)

Generally I'm not so into ladies but I wish I had at home better Internet access to have better streaming later, during the competition...Instead I'll watch some of 2nd and 3rd group (regarding the timing of live transmission in polish tv) and the rest I'll catch only by your comments and Sochi live results page...:(

In advance - good luck to all ladies !!! Make your fans proud, no bombs please !!!

You see, I would have avoided a Russian specialist as well as someone named "Olga," who was not a specialist from Finland until last year, purely out of desire to preemptively avoid any kind of appearance of impropriety. It's not like there is a shortage of these specialists. But that apparently isn't a priority.
