Oh please. She knows it's too much and she isn't even attempting it. We also know that techs were generous on her 3As in Vancouver. (At least one of them was questionable) And I did not get into her LP at all - we are talking about the SP here. I fully expect the unexpected from Mao in the LP.

Actually, Mao is only (well, only) attempting two triple-axels. Her third triple-axel attempt has now turned into a triple-flip-triple-loop attempt, which we do not know whether it will get ratified or not since she has not really attempted them in competition so far. But they are looking extremely impressive in practice, and her success rate for the triple-triple is reportedly very stable. Everyone around her, coaches, trainers, commentators, etc. are saying she is in the best possible condition.... It's all gonna come down to whether she'll be able to get that axel, like she's been doing all week.
I find Julia to be taciturn and kind of rough around the edges in terms of her manner, but she seems like a good kid. Her flexibility is aaaaaamazing, and she is an exceptional athlete, but not a better skater than Mao or Yuna or Carolina for that matter right now!

My sentiment exactly. A competition about Yuna vs Mao *again* + Lipnitskaia as the hometown girl that is in the right place at the right time.
I hope others get a chance to shine too.

Mao with just 6 triples would definitely be vurnerable to losing to Sotnikova (with inflated Russian scores) and Kostner if they skate very well.

Ah ha ha! Her facial expressions are not very attractive in general. Maybe she has had a rough life?
But I doubt she has a boyfriend that is willing to whack Mao for her body.

I don't give a damn about Mao. <3 But I prefer Mao's winning to Yu-Na's, because this is Olympics.

It's not hate towards Lipnitskaya, it's irritation with injustice, It's not like she's scoring herself and i don't think anyone wishes her ill will
But i guess a bunch of us love more than one athlete here, And we've been watching for a while and have opinions,
And my opinion is if she gets plus GOE for her Lutz and 2a and close to 9's in PCS it is just a slap in the face,
Another opinion of mine is that she is lovely in interviews and a very special super consistent talent, I spent money at Europeans just so
i could throw a bunch of big teddybears at her after the FS
, But the crowd and the judging here are a bit too antagonising, And when you see that a realistic outcome at the moment is of her
beating the lot of the skaters here, It's hard to root for her .

And I enjoy many skaters other than Julia.
My biggest hope is that we see a lot of great performances and that everyone skates to their full potential.
More than anything else I think Yulia's consistency is her best arsenal in winning Gold. People keep whinning that mao etc should have beaten her but unfortunately they make silly mistakes that gives the judges a sour impression. i dont think the judges are afraid to give mao the win, she just have to give them the reason to, like hitting her routine. And for the past years, it seems like she let the triple 3axel define her skating and now she is in the point where to hit 3axel or go home.
Good atleast no Russian judge.
