After Voronov's skate, Jason's program seemed particularly cutesy and cheesey. Not sure I'm loving this one.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT skate from Sergei!!!

I know I was expecting him to do well, but I wasn't expecting him to do quite that well!!!

Simon reckons he could keep the lead going into the FS tomorrow. And with that score, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he does!

Javi would really need to pull something out of the bag to take the lead away.

But, that's me for now. I'm putting the skating on the live pause, and am off for my tea.

Is it smarter for a skater to finish their last spin(assuming that is the final element in their program, as is usually the case) but go over the music and get a -1 deduction? Or do they receive the deduction and possibly have their element invalidated? :think:

Finish the spin, always. The -1 can be counteracted a little if you get level 4 and +GOEs on the spin. If you elect to finish it early, you're potentially leaving a lot more than -1 on the table.

Good skate for Brezina too! The quad fall was close, but I really enjoyed his program otherwise. His edges in the footwork sequence were lovely!
