2014 Worlds Men Short Program

Lol I honestly don't like any of the top 3's LP, and Yuzuru's team needs to let R&J die already.:rolleye: They should have never gone for 2.0 because 1.0 was perfect IMO. Anyways, I love seeing programs with higher technical difficulties so that's probably why I prefer Javi's over Machida. =\

Sorry for being shallow, but the main reason I couldn't like Hanyu and Machida's LP is that I can't stand the costumes. Yeah, I know I am a shallow person. :bang: unless they really deliver their LP this season which I haven't witnessed yet, or else I would never persuade myself to like the Fire bird and R&J 2.0. And yes, Javi has ok costume but his LP is not a masterpiece. Nevertheless, I hope he skate well.

I only hope Hanyu will be clean, that would be the greatest farewell to the costume. :slink:

I am soo used with ugly costumes since Kulik's giraffe shirt, that no costume can surprise and detract me from the skating anymore

Lol, no. His PCS are more deserved than Chans as of right now. Who knows what might happen in the future if he wins world title, but as of right now no one beats inflation

I think his SP PCS are deserved, but no way does Yuzuru deserve 90s in the FS.

Yan's 3A is great but its telegraphed and so does Machida. I cannot understand why they give them the same GOE as Hanyu and more than Javier who does an intricate entrance to his 3A. But then again PChan gets +3's on his hugely telegraph second rate 3A so maybe it's really not that odd.

At least it's not blinking and twinkling...:slink: anyways nowadays we call that "cosplay".

How is it possible that Hanyu with fall beats clean Verner ??

Well i guess the answer lies with the better scores for Components, The 2 jump elements after the halfway,
The intricate entrances and exits to elements as opposed to telegraphing, And that the program is performed so well.

I personally would've brought Verner about a point closer to Hanyu with a bit higher PCS ;)

I don't think that either are telegraphed or Chan's is second rate when he lands it. Obviously a 3A is coming because it's a forward take off, but it's not like they're stalking it. Han's is maybe the biggest 3A I've ever seen and has connecting moves going into it and Machida's 3A is right at the highlight of the music and has a great transition and extension out.

To be honest, I think the home advantage has too much influence for fs now, as good as Machida is at least his goe is overscore (all those 3 for 3A???). And Yuzuru win pcs with fall really reminds me of how Chan was treated. :rolleye:

It so boring that they try to make world class native to make podium or come on the top all the time.

Watched on my iPhone again...no sound but perfect video. Any suggestions? Fernandez was my favorite but I only woke up in time for the last group.

I do think Hanyu delivered PCS better than anyone today, you know, after that fall, he stand up right away, no hesitation, and into the character, really believable. And he was smiling as if the fall did not even happen. As for Machida, his GOE on that 3A is quite high for me, but he did deliver it really well. He earned it fairly.
Japanese men field is crazy to watch this year. with such high level.

Kovtun was also behind menshov too. This was the first time he ever did well at a euros or worlds in a sp. plushenko was much stronger and he earned it.

Uh, this is his second SP "ever" at Worlds. I hate when people use "first time ever" as if Kovtun had been to Worlds or Euros five times or something.

Great SP by Machida and Fernandez! Too bad about Hanyu but now that he's a Chan-type he can also afford to make errors. How fantastic to see all three Japanese men in the top 6! Quite a few clean skates and many quads landed. :)
