2015-16 Grand Prix assignments

3rd pics of Russia.

Artur GACHINSKI
Adelina SOTNIKOVA
Natalja ZABIJAKO / Alexander ENBERT
Victoria SINITSINA / Nikita KATSALAPOV

I am excited to see Adelina at a GP :) I am also vaguely interested in Zabijako/Enbert and it will be cool to see them No surprise about S/K getting the third pick, it is more astounding to me that they weren't given it before but perhaps the fed was waiting to see if poor Tiffany Z would be released.

Artur got the CoR host pick!

So did Adelina!

:yay:

It must be a vast relief to you, not only that he got CoR, but that it confirms that he must be well in spite of not appearing at the test skates. I'm very glad for you.:)

According to fsrussia.ru, he will at the Mordovian Ornament, so, he should be fine.

He is going to Nebelhorn next week, which I had forgotten. Certainly I would not like to do a "test skate" ten days before a major competition. ;)

Ooh, thankyou! I have never heard of this competition before. When is it? Where? :)

It is new this year and is October 15-18th and is one of the Challenger Bs. It is in Saransk, Russia which is southeast of Moscow.

I think it has a great name and am looking forward to seeing who gets to go and what they give out for prizes.

Hypothetical: If Serafima doesn't compete at JGP and were to go Senior where exactly would she be on the list of alternates if someone were to pull out of an event?

who what - I am confused so this person ahs two spots- are they a top ranked skater. sounds like a lot of Americans and Russians may only get 1 spot.

Yes, she is a top ranked skater though she is obviously not really competitive with the top in the world. She is 20 on the world standing lists- higher than Sotnikova, Nagasu, Sotskova, Chen (who has 2 spots) and a wide variety of other strong skaters.

She was 47 on the Season's best list last year.

I am curious about this too. As of right now, she is only on the entry list for the last JGP of the season. I remember Biryukova a few years ago was planning to do JGP but then got pulled out of her events and wound up competing at COR and a couple of senior B events. I thought maybe the same thing was going to happen with Sima in light of Adelina's injury, but then Adelina was given the TBA spot at COR just the other day, so now I'm not sure what's going on with Sima. I know she pulled out of a Russian Cup event a couple weeks ago because she took a hard fall in practice, but I haven't heard anything about a serious injury so it's all puzzling. Further, Proklova is now listed for 2 JGPs and I thought she was still injured. Hmm.

Thereotically, a skater is supposed to be submitted on the Senior GP eligibility list in June to be eligible for Senior GPs. But the ISU rules for this type of thing always seem to be in flux, so who knows...

As for Sakhanovich, is it past the deadline until which federations had to announce the skaters at those last events? Probably that can still change? As for Proklova, apparently she said that she was not injured, just having problems with boots.

Apologies if this is old news, but it looks like the chance for France to fill it's TBA spots with French skaters has come and gone.

The new assignments to Trophee Eric Bompard are:

Pairs: Miriam ZIEGLER / Severin KIEFER
Ice Dance: Sara HURTADO / Adria DIAZ and Alisa AGAFONOVA / Alper UCAR
Ladies: Brooklee Han

sorry for the french skaters but I think they did the best decision, at least with Sara and Adria.
