A couple interesting results thus far.

Anna Grace Davidson and Nina Ouellette who both receive JGP assignments are a long 3rd and 4th after the SP in their regional. The gap between 3rd and 2nd is 6 points. Alice Yang and Hina Ueno(1st and 2nd) are around 15 years old.

Avery Kurtz from Broadmoor SC had the top Senior ladies SP from the 3 competitions landing a 3Lz+2T. I don't think she'll be junior eligible next year.

Alexia Paganini, who was the winner of the 2015 U.S. International Figure Skating Classic at the Novice level, had a bad SP and is currently in 8th place(two spots behind Annabelle Morozov)

Ann Marie Mateya is currently ahead of Ashley Cain and Olivia Serafini who are both on the International Selection Pool. Ashley Cain didn't have a great skate but received an ok score.

That's exciting news for Emily! She may be behind on jumps but I absolutely love her performing and skating skills. Those spins are to die for as well. She has am absolutely marvelous short program, too! It takes a special skater to be able to pull off Whitney Houston's I will always love you without it becoming schmaltzy or trite.

Top four of every event make it to the next level, Sectionals. Top 4 from sectionals make it to Nationals. In addition, skaters who have met other top-level qualifications (being top 5 in seniors last year, having an international competition around the same time, qualifying for the grand prix or junior grand prix finals) get "bye"s and automatically make it through specific competitions.

Some of the men and pairs competitions are also automatic if there are less than four people entered, I believe. Jimmy Ma's participation may have been optional at regionals, since no one else entered in his region..... this at least applies to pairs.

I always watch Elizaveta Kulik with some interest just due to her parents... it would be cool if she made it to Sectionals this year.
