2015 Europeans Ladies Free Skate, Jan. 31

I was liking LeCavelier and saying to myself that she had some fight in her, compared to the other girls... until that stupid 2A fall.

Kiira KORPI ...................WD

That she went for the flip for the first time in int compet, and that after the fall on the toe it did affect the rest of her program, and that her goal was to skate a clean 6 tripples program, and that she loved skating her, she seemed really happy enjoying the experience :)

Awww... so glad that she's happy with herself. And I'm relieved that the Norwegian federation is finally allowing our skaters to compete at major international competitions despite the low results. Allowing Anne-Line to skate in Sochi last year was huge.

What happened to Kiira? Why is she WD?

That's too bad. Apparently a virus is terrorising this EC :(

During the GP series, I complained about how boring and inexpressive Popova was. But here, compared to the first group at Europeans, she almost looks like a natural performer! Still rather unrefined, but at least she makes an effort to present up to the audience. My opinion of her has actually changed for the better, despite the bad skate! (We humans really do evaluate by comparison, huh...)

Illness.

I need more Petrenko in my life. He should be in the K&C with Popova.

Only because I want to look at him. He and Petr Barna are arguably the best looking skaters of the 90s.
