Perfect thanx, that's all I wanted to know lol...

Will Jason finally land his quad? If so, PCS 85+ in his FS?

He has already managed 89 PCS in the free without a quad and 85.36 this weekend at Skate America.... frankly this program with a clean quad should clear 90 PCS or the quad is not worth it.

LOL fans wishful thinking perhaps? 89 where?

I think at best 85+ is already a very good mark with an iffy quads at international judging standard, consider Michida, Denis used to get about 82 with quads at Olympics, Javier around 89 with 2 quads for his WC trophy. I don't think Jason is above them. From his latest outings, he is still about 60% potential of that program so I am realistic consider it was just last week. In a few more weeks/months, who knows.

WTT is where Jason got the 89 PCS. I think there was a lot of inflation so I don't count it. He did hit the 83-85 range a few times last season without the quad. His lowest PCS was around 79 at Rostelecom Cup.

I won't disagree that an 85 is good for an iffy quad and a botched 3A, but I do think it needs to go up from there with a clean outing. I frankly would be disappointed if a clean Jason with a quad does not beat his personal best without a quad - if it does not - what is the point of killing himself for the quad? If 85 is his upper limit regardless of the quad, and he can hit it without, why would he do a quad? I stand by my statement that if he does not imporove, than maybe the quad is not actually being rewarded enough to be worth it. If people are going to badger Jason about the quad, yes I want his scores to go up when/if he starts landing it.

If a botched 3A and a UR with a fall quad is worth 85.36 then what do you think a clean quad and clean second 3A should garner? Five point does not seem unreasonable and that puts him at 90. I realize it may not happen, but I also think that an 88 would be too low of a reward. Less than three points increase seems honestly a bit sad when you think about it. I am not as quad crazy as some, but it should be rewarded.

Regardless of personal opinions on Jason, most I think will agree he is a hard worker. I do think he will land a quad eventually, and I don't see what is wrong with hoping his scores go up enough to reflect and reward that hard work.

I'm with you on hoping his scores reflect the hard work. Still, I think Jason and his team are looking long-term. This is the year he decided to put in the effort to establish the quad. It's already improved greatly from GF thru Nepela to SA. If it keeps improving through the season, by Worlds he'll have the confidence that he needs for next year.
That's the way I understand what Kori and Jason have said.

Mrs P I don't disagree about the inflation, but ... there's almost always inflation, whether it's event wide or specific to a few guys at an event. So I'm curious - is it necessary to discount Jasons WTT score as inflated? I mean I thought Javi's PCS of 91 at Worlds was way high, but that's what he was awarded so I can't really discount it, can I? Or do you think WTT was different for some reason? I'm interested to hear your thoughts.

Mrs. P is far from the only one to think that WTT scores in general tend to be inflated. Not just this WTT but in general it often has high scores. Part of that likely is due to it being late in the season when teams have their programs nailed, but it also is a fun event where it is fun to give big scores. FWIW I did not take it to be a dig at Jason, but rather Mrs. P's attempt at being fair, which is always noble if not always realistic.

Personally, I think the "does not count" mentality is a dangerous slippery slope and one I don't really like to play on. If it exists, it exists. I don't want to start enumerating what scores count and don't because that will frankly turn into drinking game of old arguments. I am just too cynical to be noble and fair... i just accept what is and try to slush through it. I do however want to say that i lose no respect whatsoever for Mrs. P for her point in this case.

edit - I didn't know Stephane Walker is still competing...and I guess I'm the only one watching this for skaters not named Jason?

Lol, I've been watching, though I must admit that my big interest is Jason's quad :)

So tell us about Michal, Anton and Artur, well Dmitry I know about(son of the great pair skater A. D.)
