Me too! I'm obsessed with Beaudry and Sorensen's Sinatra FD. I'm not sure who choreographed it but it just oozed appeal and charm tonight. I'm beyond ecstatic that Paul/Islam performed a clean program here that had such little mileage and their nerves held up. Interesting night in dance for sure, starting to see who's gonna be contenders in this next quad. I've got my eye on Stepanova and Bukin.Mine as well. I actually tuned out of the final group. I think I appreciated the final group's FDs in the grand prix events more now rather than in Shangia
Nary a single negative GOE in sight. Now, I don't claim to understand ice dance, but why are off-sync twizzles given Level 4 and positive GOE? Here I thought the GOE scoring in singles was bad... this is just nuts. Even C/B's twizzles got positive GOE (albeit "only" +1s).One of the judges gave Pap/Ciz's twizzles a +3 GOE. Huh?
has any team ever gone from 13 the year before to the podium, let alone gold? I like this French team a lot... so I am not dissing them... but it's a drastic move....
How did they react? Is there a footage on Youtube?
It'll be interesting to see what happens in Marina's camp in the next year. If any of Voir/Marlie returns... who's Marina's top team? Capellini and Lanote? will the Shibs get a bump? will the shibs leave?
Maybe this is payback for not giving the world title to Pechalat and Bourzat last year.
Russia will have a little rebuilding to do in Ice Dance, but they are building an empire in ladies right now which has been desolate until the last year or so. Russia should dominate ladies for many years to come and will probably receive the majority of the focus for a long time.

I don't know if the judges are want V/M to come back ("Your successors aren't succeeding!") or if they're trying to make sure they never return ("see, this young team came within two points of your personal best, and they did it with a twizzle error!")

That's their challenge: can they top themselves or even live up to this material? They might choose horrible material next year, they may not. Who knows? And next year, we've got C/B with home field advantage given that they'll be competing in Boston, and W/P will be fighting back, hopefully with their trademark experimental / adventurous material like "Maria de Buenos Aires" or "Je Suis Malade". Vivaldi was too safe for them. Hopefully they will be bold and daring in their music choice.
This was a huge win not just for P/C but also for the Montreal ice dance school. Now Marie-France, Patrice and Romain are all training the world champions. They've got the Danes and Spaniards here as well, and they'll likely be motivated to perform better and improve next year with that kind of energy, working with them on a daily basis.

Agree with this in it's entirety. They can bury me next to you.
Agreed! I normally root for Canada as one of my favorites, but the bad attitudes regarding W/P left a bad taste in my mouth. Poor sportsmanship is not just for athletes, but fans as well. I thought the Americans should have won overall. But I'm not dissing P/C.
There are muscular butts like Ruslan and then there are monsters like Cizeron and Poirier.
Lol W/P not in the second kiss and cry
: about my run-on, gushing post re Cizeron.:agree:. What I admire about Poirier(especially with Hitchcock program) and Cizeron is that they both seem to truly love dance in a way that comes through their programs. That's their challenge: can they top themselves or even live up to this material? I agree, I'd like to see something more adventurous, I did raise my eyebrows when I found out their FD music and I do like the FD a lot but I prefer them in a different style.
And I hope that Marie and Patrice can do the same magic with the Spaniards, I love watching Sara and Adria but the judges don't seem to agree![]()
