Try to make an American kid work out like that! First of all, a coach would be accused of child abuse...
No, you'd be fine. I remember having to carry my dance partner Piggy Back style across the floor during my ballet classes when I was in 6th grade. When we got to Junior High, we had to carry our partners on our shoulders up and down the stairs in front of the studio. Coaches have to be creative in finding ways to train their students without using heavy weight's as Ballerina's don't like having bulky muscles. Frankly, the girl's were less afraid than we were. I always worried that I would trip and we'd both fall. The girls would always say that they'd jump off if they thought we were going to fall. That actually happened a couple of times but, we never had anyone get hurt.......Seriously.
Just don't put your hands in the wrong place or you'll get slapped.
