wow crazy stat. I have to say that is surprising that is it USA and not Canada, as in senior USA has actually never been that successful unlike Canada.

Yeah, China's won 7/15 (2001, 2003, 2010-2012, 2014-2015), Russia's won 5/15 (2002, 2004-2005, 2008-2009), and the US has 3/15 (2006-2007, 2013).

The only countries to have won the Pairs title are Canada, Soviet Union, East Germany, USA, Ukraine, Russia, and China.

Hopefully Duskova and Bidar can add the Czech Republic to that!

Yu/Jin (CHN, 2 wins), Denney/Frazier (USA, 1 win), Sui/Han (CHN, 3 wins)

So, the teams that won the past 6 seasons.

Three other skaters from pairings are still competing (Zhang Hao who won in 2001 and 2003 with Zhang Dan, Maxim Trankov who won in 2005 with Maria Mukhortova, Liubov Ilushechkina who won in 2009 with Nodari Maisuradze)

ETA: I find this all interesting because it shows how easily some countries (or even specific teams in those countries) can dominate Juniors but can't maintain a great Senior showing.

That lift position from the Great Britain team with her wrapping her arms around his shoulders and spreading her legs wins my ugliest lift of the season. Remember the motto "just because you can doesn't mean you should"
