2016 Youth Olympic Games Ladies

Here's a recap of the Ladies SP... Tsurskaya is the only one out of the top 6 not featured. They skipped 4th place for the men's SP too for some odd reason.

Thx for the link :).

The Pairs SP highlights had left out the fifth-place pair, but included the sixth-place pair.
So I guess the inconsistency itself has become consistent  ;) :(.

ETA:
Happy to see that the Ladies SP highlights included footage of Giang, Benjaminsen, Gennaro as well.
Plus the comments from Nikitina and Tursynbaeva.

I think they wanted to feature ladies that did better than usual, the only reason I can come up with that explains no Tsurskaya in highlights.

I'm confused about why the highlights need to be so short in the first place...they must have filmed their whole programs, so why aren't they available to the public to watch?

GO YUNA~! Hope to see her clean 3S+3Lo tomorrow, but probably Tsurskaya's got this in the bag if she skates like she did at the JGPF.

Another reason is that they don't want anyone to see and compare... the scores which were given and what was actually performed lol :disapp:
And imagine - if it were not for people's periscopes we wouldn't even have a slightest idea how each one of the skaters did!

Yes, that 3S -3LO of Yuna is awesome considering how difficult the loop is as the second jump in a combo.

She has a quiet charm that draws one in and also the big jumps. Wishing her and all the other skaters too all the best in the free and a better competition than the men's. ;)

I'm rooting for Elizabet and Kaori. (I've said this before, but Kaori's jumps are just so PRETTY I can't help wanting her to win!) Also Masha...please don't die :hopelessness:

I'm not concerned about Polina. She will probably be back with a vengeance in the free skate and this was likely a random fluke (which happens to everyone).

Did even flew over your head the possibility that she could have had a day off? Or maybe she, oh god, actually commited those faults and was called on it? Is that so hard to imagine? I don't think the techical caller would actually put two calls on her jumps just for fun and giggles.

Those videos I watched were pretty horrible, so I can't say if she jumped clean or not, but I can assure you that even through those horrible videos it was obvious she had quite a step out on her flip, but again, it's impossible to see if it was underrotated or not. About the combo, again, impossible to see. Unless someone comes with a better way to analyze it, we'll never know. Just remember that it was the skater that skated the program, not the statistics.

She had a bad day, maybe a bad skate. She'll get over it, and she shouldn't be the only one.

That did not fly over my head because there's no precedent for it. She can make mistakes but two urs for the first time ever here and here only? Doesn't pass the smell test. Its totally suspicious and not really believable. Now people are saying she always urs and this was the first time she's been called on it. Nonsense! Why would all jrgp callers not be honest?

Her jumps have become worse than what they used to be during GPF for instance. She also has been closer to UR than before so it's not that surprising.

Lovely that people would assume it's unjust judging instead of the skater making mistakes. Tsurskaya hasn't even been competing in juniors for long enough to set a trend in the first place.

Yes she has. No urs anywhere else this season on any jump ever.

And why would this caller in particular, in a competition that might not sound too important, but is backed by the COI, would set out on a witch hunt against her? Just because there's no precedent then the technical caller doesn't have a job to do? So why even have one when she's competing if her precendent is that good? Now she doesn't even need to jump anymore, they might as well just mark her score because her precedent is good enough to discredit the panel and the caller? Do I need to go further?

This is just too much to me, I can't take any of your opinions seriously because you can't admit to the possibility that she might have UR'd her jumps. You can't admit it, there's nothing backing you up on that claim, absolutely nothing, only past results, which mean nothing to the competition at hand, and yet you're hammering on a conspiracy out of nothing.

:palmf:

I'm out.

I'm out.

You are talking about not just some caller but Deborah Islam from Canada.

These past results are not like 10 years ago its a few weeks. So many dozens of jumps not one ur. Now there are two in a sp. I can't find anywhere that she is injured. The official recap doesn't even acknowledge her presence here.

Is Deborah Islam of Canada some notorious tech caller? I've aways heard of Shin Amano from Japan by being incredibly harsh, but I'm unaware about anyone else

Also, it was very nice to see clips of the ladies SP from a good quality camera.... Even if it wasn't full performances.

There's no point arguing unless video is released... which should be released though I doubt we'll see it. Tsurskaya was interviewed afterward and said she was stiff legged and didn't dispute the judging. I'm glad we'll have video tomorrow.

She doesn't say the urs were right she is just moving on to the free skate.

ROTFL. Of all the disciplines, I don't see Canada as having a major agenda in the ladies event. And certainly no reason to prefer Japan, Kazakhstan, and Latvia over Russia.

Polina has every chance of winning this event. As do Yuna (who has now bested the three remaining top junior ladies from last year's Junior Worlds at some point this season) and Elizabet (who has bested two of Canada's national champions as well as Karen Chen and Julia Lipnitskaia).

That becomes even double suspisious with her not being mentioned in the video. Another person wrote his opinion at one of the forums with which I agree through and through: "If they show Polina they'll have to say that she's been at the top for all the season. If they do, they'll have to tell how comes that she is only fourth after the SP. If they tell it, it's logical to show the element which cost her this. And if they show her jumps in good quality... looks like they rather prefer not to do it at all". That's definitely fishy.

I haven't read through the thread, so don't know what happened in the SP.

But, what on Earth is Sotskova doing in the second group???!!! I was predicting her to win the silver medal (but was secretly hoping that she would win the gold!)

EDIT: Just looked at the SP scores. She had a deduction, whereas all the girls in front of her went clean. And her Technical Elements score was a lot lower than the girls in front of her too.

Oh, I hope she can claw back a lot of places today!
