I don't trust ladies doing clean quads consistently though. They can try, but the risk outweight the rewards.

She has to land clean and fully rotated 4S in competition first. For now she has not.I think Sasha will land her quads in competition and I think she'll keep trying until she does. I don't expect her to stop and I do think others are going to start to join in their own pursuits.
It's likely she'll even do a 4s and 4t in the same event.

And another thing, she is very very tiny right now. Only God knows when she grows up, will she maintain such fast rotation? Maybe she will not do 3F3lo and 3lz3lo by the time she's 18 or so. Who knows.

Historically... the MATURE lady who landed 3-3lo combo cosistently often UR them (Irina).Who knows is right!!! That's why I don't speculate even a little on that stuff.![]()

If the changes to GOE range(from -3 +3 to -5 +5) are going to be there that are going to punish falls far more significantly, I really believe that that will be the death of planned falls on quads. Really, you'd also have to be able to fully rotate them for the planned fall to truly be worthwhile(If it even is at all after these changes), something Trusova too has struggled with. By falling a UR quad, her program layout is significantly worse than if she just landed all triples and doubles with decent GOE, and the difference there is going to become even larger in the future. URing a quad and landing it, it's worth it. But regardless of a season like this that I'm sure Trusova considers mostly experimental, I don't think it's a smart decision to add a quad unless yours are in very good order and you can rotate them properly. The main thing a planned fall would allow is for you to actually replace a double jump with a quad and perform the exact same triples as before, so if you can rotate it all the time, it is still a gain. But the loss in PCS and the potentially weaker performance would likely get hurt too much for that to be worth it.With all this talk of quads, do we think the experimentation (if it gets off the ground, which it seems to be) will end up going more in the men's direction (lots of splatting for the BV points the rotation can get)? Or will the ladies be more conservative about adding them? I know Eteri's skaters do the whole "run the whole thing again if it's not perfect" thing, so I could imagine a girl wouldn't want to put a jump in her skate she didn't feel capable of landing just to avoid having to run through her program 15 times in a day. Trusova's success rate hasn't been good in competition with the quad, and I'm a little worried that the thing I currently prefer about women's skating (the relative cleanliness at the top compared to the men) might fade away. I'm not as in the know about the Russian girls as some of you are, so I'm curious what the opinion is.
Rika has not skated consistently with her two 3A layout though... and don't forget Mao used to land two 3A in the free skate (plus 3-3) as well... when they grow up it's another matter. The system also does not reward ladies doing difficult jumps much IMO.We could have thought the same of 3As, yet Rika has these historical performances like it's nothing.
There's a first time for everything - Including a first ladies' skater landing quads consistently, perhaps even multiple ones. It's possible it is not going to be either Trusova nor Shcherbakova, but "plan C" is looking very good at this point in time as well.

The best comparison we have is Zagitova vs Trusova because they have the same jump features, just with Trusova having a UR(for now) quad. But remember a UR does get pretty heavy negative GOE by default so you can't really have one that's "Well landed" in that sense.Well landed underrotated quad should be a good improvement to base value of the program.
she is junior. She has one more season in juniors as well. She doesn't need to win every competition she is in. It's all about future.Zagitova FS jump BV: 50.71
Trusova FS jump BV: 54.63

By the way, I decided to go through these out of curiosity. Anya's quad 4T air time is around 0.5667 seconds. Trusova's quad 4T air time is around 0.6667 seconds. Anya's backloaded 3Lz air time is around 0.5333 seconds. That Tarakanova Lutz's air time is around 0.6333 seconds. Note the accuracy is limited by the amount of frames available.I don't know Tarakanova's ambitions but her Lutz is huge.

For those of us familiar with being on the ice it is very easy to recognize and respect the distance she is covering. Face off circle to face off dot is no joke. You have to be absolutely flying to reach such distance and height.
Am I the only one who absolutely ADORES Alina’s tutus?? Both of them!
I have to wonder what a professional ballerina would say of Alina![]()
I guess different ballerinas could say different words. I know that mom of Daniil Gleykhengauz (according to his interview) was ballerina at Bolshoy Theater and now she is one of choreographers in Eteri's group and works with Alina too.I have to wonder what a professional ballerina would say of Alina
Gotta ask - Was the same red tutu first used by Med and is now Zag is using it? Looks to be. But I did notice that additional stones had been added in the deep red.
