2017-18 State of Russian Ladies skating

Hey folks. Can you feel it? I sense this in the air... Anna Shcherbakova is coming! And what's interesting, it's another Moscow Cup. Previous was named "Moscow Open Cup", and now this - Moscow Cup #2.
At first competition I saw many beautiful skates, but one of them was very special. May be we will see a repeat of this at the second one? 🤔

I also need to post this here. What a mix of talent and cuteness at one photo... :dbana:

Did you notice Kim? Is she training with Svetlana now? Good for her. Those kids of 8-13 yo will motivate her very well.

Only a week to go. It will be such a long week...

Here's a GIF - Let's pray she uses this in a program in the future!

I truly cannot wait. I really really hope I'll get absolutely blown away by her being even better than before, but I'm going to be happy no matter how she does.

Sad that juniors don't do chsq, this one is really beautiful. But I'm a bit worry because I saw here someone wrote Daniil's instagram comment about her, and if I remember correct, it was like, "she already jumps some of the triples", which means she also still jumps some doubles because she didn't get back her previous shape yet? But I guess it makes no sense to put her in competition if she isn't competitive, although she's with 3-2 combos with clean skating can beat there almost all skaters, because of highest PCS, but I hope she did get back her previous shape already.

I wouldn't worry, that's a random person on social media...

hail to Eteri, but you couldn't even recognize her mom! :dumb:

:slink:
*does walk of shame*
:slink: :slink:

Failed! She doesn't present on this photo. These are Tutberidze's mother and Medvedeva's grandma.

I can imagine Zhenya's grandma telling Eteri's mom something like: "Now listen, you need to tell Eteri to make Zhenya relax a bit and not overtrain. I'm scared for her health."

Plot twist when these two are actually the masterminds behind Evgenia's success

Come on guys... :rolleye:
Girl got her leg in two pieces just 180 days ago and couldn't walk properly in September yet. We know, she doesn't practice quads anymore, not even sure about toughest combos. She's most likely just your regular KMC girl regarding technical content now, so I'm pretty sure you won't be blown away. Let's not put unnecessary pressure, give her time and hope she can endure two decent skates and not feel any pain, please.

She'll have whole spring and summer to bring back the magic and top fitness. Patience, folks.

Heeey, now! Technical content isn't what I meant at all. That's really not what I had in mind when I said "better than before". For the jumps, I just want her to stay on her feet, even if she needs to jump doubles. Still, there's some room for optimism because 1. We've already seen her jump 2A and her rotation speed looks fine and 2. We know she's been practicing triples for well over a month(December 5 is when I first heard mention of it but I have to assume it started earlier than that).

Of course, apart from that, it would be wonderful if she had her jumps in good enough order and got a high enough score that they would let her participate in Jr. Nationals. But for me, better than before has to do with something that has absolutely nothing to do with jumps.

Sad that juniors don't do chsq, this one is really beautiful.
It really is a shame, isn't it? We only get to see when these skaters decide to do senior competitions, and this seems to be the only one she did with that FS. The 16-17 FS's choreo sequence unfortunately is nowhere near that spectacular in my opinion. At least the potential is there for great things next season at least! Or the one after~

It was December 5th https://www.goldenskate.com/forum/s...Shcherbakova&p=1876805&viewfull=1#post1876805, I'm sure she is much better now

It was answer of Daniil, not "random person"

ISU European Figure Skating Championships

Note: Exclusive battle between Evgenia and Alina, the first in this season. Also interesting battle between Maria and Carolina.

Junior Russian Nationals 2018
Jan 24 - Jan 25

Note: Too many incredible talents, this is the 3rd strongest competition in the world, after Senior Russian and Senior Japanese Nationals. But soon, it probably will be the 1st. The wave of upcoming talents is much impressive than current Russian seniors. But we should never forget about puberty, so let's wish to each of them, and especially to the pure talents, go through it without consequences.
