Of course, this is not political support. But Sotskova (and Radionova) still have support.
Only one word: CSKA. One of the most powerful and influential sports clubs in Russia.
And yes, you're completely wrong when you mention Eteri's school - her athletes always achieve everything by themselves on the ice, and not through the offices of high officials.
Just look at competitions results: Tutberidze team students almost always have higher scores at the international tournaments, than at Russian competitions. CSKA students (and, to be fair, also some of the athletes from St. Petersburg sports schools) instead, almost always have higher scores at Russian competitions, and are much-much worse abroad.

Masha placed 3rd at Nationals because she out skated Anna. Anna had an injury and underperformed while Masha came and got the job done!

Konstantinova seems to grow much taller in the summer. ISU bio says she is 166cm, about 5'5" now. Hope once she stops her growth spurt, she can controls her jumps better.
Her edge quality is one of the best among Russian ladies, and she can interpret a wide range of music well. Her skating is mature and stylistic, one of a kind.

Lol. Valentina doesn't have tremendous influence in RusFed so this theory is just simply wrong. While Gubanova has lovely style technically she isn't strong and she isn't stable. Stasya just showed her best when it mattered. Not to mention she has great edges and fluidity also she seemed to work on her jumps during off season.
Nastya missed the spot simply because she bombed her SP during RusNats - she was 11th. Unless you have some ridiculous theory how Gubanova is the most unloved skater among Russian juniors
If she wants to stay competitive she should get better coaching in terms of jumps. Last year they were already terrifying but now she grew up and landing them seems to be a complete lotteryLol. I think there is two problems:
1) Stasya just showed her best when it mattered - sadly, but only at nationals, and with some boost. She also skated there not clean.
2) It depends on rusfed, but it's a shame that they didn't allow to Stasya move up to seniors. Because it makes troubles not only for her, but also for 13-14 yo talented girls, which is can't even get a chance to participate there! Nana Araki - is a very illustrative example. She even didn't get the spot to skate at Junior Japanese Nationals! And now she beats Stasya. Just like that. This example shows that nationals competitions - it's not everything. I'm pretty sure that "juniorish" Vasilieva for the clean skate in the free program will get 125+ points at JGP. Kostornaya is able to get 130+.
Stasya is able to get even 130-135 points too, but she just can't skate clean. She could skate in Challenger Series and prove there her place under the sun. But the federation thinks she has to be in the juniors one more year.
So rusfed - is the only thing we should blame.

Her TES is correct. PCS too (considering program overall). She looked tired at the end, just as at test skates. Funny GOE here on her 3S+3T: 9.57 x 0.28 -1 0 1 -1 2 2 0 = 9.85. Two judges gave her 2 points for that, and two judges -1. I agree more with the another two. -1 - is a really right call for this combo.
What I liked, it's her first flying spin at the beginning of the program. That was just mavelous. Same with 3F+3T combo. And she got for both these elements very nice and well-deserved GOE. So judges were absolutely right.

I didn't say judges were wrong, they were strict. It's okay.
They weren't strict! Evgenia will be lucky if the same judging will be at RC.

I was comparing this judging panel who gave lvl 3 to Med's stsc with another one at Skate Canada, who gave level 4 and +GOE for this

If at Nepela Trophy judges weren't strict, how would you call Skate Canada judges?
Levels are up at technical controller. Not judges. All judges except one gave her +3 GOE for this stsq. Don't know what Jeroen PRINS thought about her stsq. But except this strange call, the judging was loyal.
