2017-18 State of Russian Ladies skating

Gulyakova won over Gubanova on 19th September at Cup of Russia (1st stage). Was she injured after that?

I've heard that she got injured after JGP Brisbane, but she won that event so i guess she can go to JGP Egna.

What about Nugumanova? Will she compete in seniors this year? Will she get that third spot at the Rostelecom Cup?

She is inconsistent, I like her skating, but if were RuFed official... I'd prefer more reliable young lady.

Nugumanova is too young to compete in seniors this year. And the spot was given to Mikhailova.

Wrong. Mikhailova can jump at least. Sakhanovich doesn't.

Man, I always forget about Sima and it makes me sad. If I had to guess between Evgenia and Sima three-four years ago which one of them seemed more likely to lose their jumps, I would've picked Evgenia (and obviously been very wrong).

Really? Her jumps always were very strange to me, especially her landings. JWC 2014 - good example. After moving to Eteri, she somehow fixed her sloppy landings, but that's all. And at JWC 2015 something started to go wrong already, but she was lucky that she didn't lose to Wakaba.

Yeah i've edited it because i didn't know that Valeria skated clean at Nationals, but still she is unknown vs a two times JW silver medalist

She took third place after Gulyakova and Gubanova at a recent competition. Her problems are her skating and speed, i. e. PCS. She is good jumper but without 3-3 combo in the free program.

But she is 15 years old (since july).

She is the same age as Gubanova and Samodurova. All of them not senior eligible this season.
Nugumanova’s DOB is in August 2002. To be able to compete senior this season, she needed to be 15 before 1st July this year. She became 15 only in August. Too late.

I thought both would lose their jumps, which I was wrong too.

Evgeni Plushenko: "Sakhanovich skating is much more powerful than Medvedeva's"
"We started to work just three days ago. I see that Serafima wants to become elite figure skater again and prove herself, that she can compete at the high level. She skates from morning till night in our academy.
We are working on her technique at the moment. To be honest we are breaking her old technique, because I don't really like some of her jumps. She has a big problem with axel, her jumps aren't tight enough. She is also a bit overweight, so she began to loose weight.
You see, the girl wanted to finish her career. But now she has a resolve. It is ridiculous to end a career at the age of seventeen especially having such skills! After we restore her technique, we'll learn the quad salchow, she has already worked on it before. And we are also planning to learn the quad toeloop.
Nobody (even the top skaters) has so much power as Seraphima. She is really powerful.
- Even among our senior ladies?
- Yes, even among seniors nobody skates with such speed.
- Even Evgenia Medvedeva?
- Yes. I was talking about her in the first place.
- Sakhanovich's skating is more powerful than skating of the current two-time world champion?
- Of course. She is miles ahead. We only need to add proper technique to her skating skills to make a good program. And her jumps are very high! Therefore it is very cool that she decided to stay"

I can see the inexperience on all these bold statements.

Yes Serafima is good (for the records i liked her more than Zhenya in 2014-15), but first we have to see all of this in competition.

We heard for years "this skater is better than Medvedeva" and they all lost so far.
