It's an on-going discussion here. Figure skating is expensive sport everywhere Russia included. I just talked with my friend yesterday whose daughter grew up to kms before quitting. He said that FS was one of the biggest cost items for the family. They had to buy skates, dresses, pay for extra time, etc. When comparing Russia and US it's not about the total costs - it's about the share of family's disposable income. The price of skates would be the same in Russia and America. But incomes here on average are 5 times smaller.

Are the salaries so small? What is the real situation in Russia? Cause on social media I see that families(many from figure skating) have big properties and go to exotic holidays.

One of the obviously biased Canadian commentators said that Osmond was the OGM favorite. What do you think? Have they forgotten about our starlets Medvedeva, Zagitova, and Sotskova??

Anyway, what time does Anya skate today?

Who cares what she/he said? We all are commentators here. Someone has figure skating experience, someone hasn't. It doesn't matter. Let's not do a black PR to those who doesn't even deserve to be mentioned.

The KMC category FS should begin at 18:45 Moscow time and continue until 20:30. I don't know when exactly Anya would skate, however... There's no starting order for the FS. I have to assume she would skate last because of winning the SP, but I just don't know. Well, the strong skaters are still enjoyable to watch in this competition so it might be a good idea to try and watch the entire final group, which would probably mean starting to watch around 19:50-20:00, depending on how they're able to stick to the schedule.


And - I think that before Osmond can be considered the OGM favorite, she should first try to at least be the national champion for a country with only one other competent ladies' skater.
 
I'm sorry because this has nothing to do with what's being discussed :biggrin: but I need to share this: I was watching the news and they showed Ivanka Trump and suddenly I had a realization... she looks a lot like Maria Sotskova? Like.. a lot? Is it only me?

Although I hope Masha ages better than she does. She looks like plastic surgery mania has taken a hold of her.
Also though, Masha's new hair color reminds me of Gracie.

To be clear, that was Rod Black who knows almost nothing about skating. Most Canadian skating fans think he's stupid. He also kept saying that the top 3 finishers automatically go to the Olympics, even though that's not true because Canada considers body of work. Ted Barton is much better. He literally had to clarify when the stream came back up that regardless of what the guy on TSN was saying, the top 3 didn't necessarily have the spots. I wish TSN would just let CBC do it all.

A person makes on average $8,000 per year in Russia. Of course, there are about 100,000 households (about 0.1% of the population) who make more than 1 million dollars a year. They have big properties and go to exotic holidays.
 
Okay I'm watching the stream of the final group, but I'm not familiar with these girls. I mostly wanted to see Anna. Who's the girl on first right now?
