2017-18 State of Russian Ladies skating

It's possible she receives minimum impact from puberty of course. But even so - I doubt it's less impact than Medvedeva and Medvedeva looks completely different now than she looked 2 years ago. Just compare her and Zagitova's bodies in the Olympics. And Medvedeva is not at all the standard when it comes to puberty changes. A slight change like that could do something like impacting 3Lo combos, which is a pretty big deal for Zagitova.

The reality is, there still is only one Eteri skater who got through puberty without issues and that's Medvedeva.

Well, the important thing is the "curve gain", so to speak. So until she has that, it's hard to say anything.

I agree with you. Zhenya changed a lot between junior and Boston’s worlds in that 12 months. But compare Boston’s worlds to now, and she clearly has a tiny, but adult, body and face.

Alina has grown several centimetres this last year, but still looks very young. I think she has more growing and maturing to do, especially over the next 2-3 years. I hope she can keep her jumps throughout that, as the next wave of talented juniors will be ready to move up and challenge the seniors, while they themselves still have their young mostly prepubescent bodies.

Alina's mom is tiny and graceful woman, but with normal feminine curves rather than slender. On the other side, her dad seems to be rather thin, strong guy. I wish Alina all the best, she totally won me over in this Olympics, but I expect rather hard times ahead for her in this matter. Deeply and sincerely hoping to be wrong.
Simultaneously adorable, tough as nails and heart warming personality. :)

she gave a birth for two children, what curves are you expecting:scratch2: alina is already at size of her mom and her dad is not a big guy, i don't expect her to grow more than 4-5 cm, and it seems like she's fully grown already (like most of the girls at 15-almost 16)

But Alina already has curves. It's most visible in her EX.

Imagine coming off a regular fight in Sheremetyevo today and getting this reception

We flew the same flight with Daniil, Moris, and Medvedeva's grandma. Somehow the crowd was in the far corner of SVO terminal D so that regular guys like us had a chance to go out before this reception.

Looks like the entire Russian ladies Olympic team will be at worlds....... another battle!!!!
No battle in junior worlds though; trusova will attemp 2 quads and even if she falls on both she will win. I predict without a doubt, trusova will win.

Well, Rika Kihira might perform a total of 3 triple axels without falling on them... The rest of her content isn't as strong and she has had some consistency issues but hm.

The thing is, for the long program 1 quad has massive returns, but attempting 2 has very diminishing returns and a second quad isn't even worth it if you fall and UR on it(The first quad is worthwhile even in that case). The reason is, the first quad replaces a 2Lo but the second one replaces a 2A, meaning that the point gain is much lower.

I don't believe you can do a triple axel in the short for juniors. That's why she is a bigger threat in seniors, and I see her consistency improving slowing.

Eteri's gonna teach the girls to be the first to put +3Lz on the end of combos to fix that problem. Trusova's layout next season will be 4T/4S/3F+3Lz/2A+3Lz/3F+3T+3Lo/3S/2A
