2017-18 State of U.S. Ladies Skating

On Instagram, it was announced USFSA has announced Mirai, Bradie and Karen as their nominees for the Olympics!! Congratulations to all 3 of these gals and hope they have placements which they're proud of

Angela not getting a 4CC assignment is a crime, but then her 7th place at Nationals was also a crime. It seems unlikely for Ashley to go though, so hopefully Angela will get the chance.

WOW she doesn't even get to go to worlds?! Come on us fed...💔💔💔 They couldn't have given her that after everything she's given us skating the past four years. I'm heartbroken

I'm honestly shocked that they didn't even throw Ashley a Worlds swan song bone. That's some next level shade. She must have pissed off a lot of the higher ups after Skate America, and then her temper tantrum last night. I don't know if she'll even go to 4CC tbh.

Then kick who off Worlds?

Bradie the consistent skater and U.S. Champion?
Karen the girl who secured 3 spots last season?
Mirai??? Not after the last Olympics decision. They don't dare. lol

So if she doesn't go to 4CC... could this be her last performance... completely? Did she ever say anything how much longer she wants to go on? (If that hasn't changed now)

I know everyone feels bad for Angela for not getting 4CC, but.....the girl has had 5+ years to make a splash and she STILL has not. 5+ YEARS. Even at “easier” senior B’s she has failed to make a name for herself. I’m not counting her injuries; even when healthy she has not made a splash. She is one of the loveliest skaters but THE most inconsistent of the top 10 US seniors, no doubt. 5+ years. 5+ years.....

The general public doesn't give a crap about worlds...does NBC even air it? Maybe like an hour highlites. But they should remove Karen and let Ashley go, when all is said and done she still managed to get a bronze gp medal in the same field where Karen flopped.

Mirai's most recent IG story indicates she'll be either narrating along and heavily featured on @NBCOlympics IG (she's already on a few stories there) about what this crazy day is going to be like for her (and I'm assuming Bradie and Karen) also.

For those who don't use it much and may not know, Instagram has both the regular image stories on the feed, but then also video stories that you have to click on the circle around the avatar to watch, so be sure to do both.

Well, the general public might not but the "casual skating fans" usually do keep some sort of track on when the grand prix events(or maybe just finals) and world championships(and europeans over here) are and do tend to watch those recaps.

Still, the world championships are quite meaningful regarding spot in the future.

Went to check and it's my first time seeing that I cannot see an Instagram profile, cause it's not available in my region... :palmf:

Yay for Starr and Ting!!! That was a good choice. I can be happy without reservations for both. Now let's get Pooja some JGPs next season!

Wow really? Geoblocking Instagram is literally the opposite of what Instagram is meant to do.

I was surprised myself, but I could access it with Hola on my computer. Blank screen on my phone though. Weird.

Well, that's one way to look at it. Personally, I do expect Bradie to fizzle out relatively soon, but perhaps she proves me wrong. She's quite a bit older than Karen and calling her "the future" is quite off in my eyes - She's at an age where a decline would be imminent.

There's only an year's difference between the two.:rofl:

Congratulations to Bradie U.s. National Champ, Mirai for finishing 2nd, Karen for 3rd as well as being nominated to the olympic team and world teams,
Congratulations to Starr Andrews for being named to 4cc and Junior worlds , Ting Cui for being named to Junior worlds

Ashley & mariah bell for 4cc.
