2017 GP Internationaux de France Ladies FS

This.
I really do like Osmond as a skater. From a tech. POV as well as artistic. But I just don't see her with this free program. I don't think it's a problem, to be clear, but I would love smth modern for her in order to enhance her personality on ice and her powerful jumps.
exactly! i LOVE her SP, but this swan program is wrong on so many levels... i still don't understand why she thought this program is a good idea

most of those girls from junior will not survive, believe me/Where is Serafima now? Gubanova?

Haha, we don't even know if Zagitova/Sotskova/etc will survive! In fact, I'm betting that only one of them will. Just like Med was the only one to "survive" out of Pogo/Radionova.

Meh. I'm a Yuna fan too but her WR was with an additional element and 3 2As which is even illegal nowadays.

Illegal nowadays .

There were differenr rules back then,it was 8 years ago.Compare skatin skills, fludity, performances , step sequences which are sill more superior then any russian do nowadays..- this is never getting old. not jumps., but still yuna had fanstastic 3lutz3, 2a3= so she wasnt so weak jumper. Lets not be siily

It was Medvedeva, Sotskova and Proklova.

2 survived and... *Sigh*

She didn't do 3Lo. She didn't do 3Lo in 2014 either when she couldn't do 3 2As anymore.

It was with different rules that allowed for more points. That's... my point.

still skating and healthy, aren't they? :)
on the other hand, where is Medvedeva now? Sotskova? Zagitova? looks like getting medals in seniors?

They didn't survive? They're still breathing, skating and competing so what are you talking about?

Polina has good chances to survive. She is among the tallest and she is doing very well. She has a great technique and I doubt she will grow much more.

:(
The most beautiful russian skater I've seen, and among the best overall.

Re: Gubanova

She’s only 14 and she’s had some really good skates this year. She got the invite to RN too even though we all know politiks /olympiks/ /seniority will be against her.

Given that there is quite lot of Japanese companies sponsoring skating events, I sometimes wish the Japanese fans would pressure these sponsors to pressure JS federation to support or push the Japanese female skaters more. The deal with the over scoring and underscoring in GOE and PCS is unfortunately getting complicated every year and it's robbing skaters who rightly deserved a higher score or position. Of course nothing will change and those judges from x countries will continue to inflate their favorites. I have started following protocols and scoring in more detail after Sochi but each year, i am just getting more and more confused with the scoring, inflation and biases.

Better than Julia? :p I wish Gubanova could be adopted to Poland somehow. She'd be a star!

Yes, better than Yulenka from an artistic POV and skating skills. I loved watching her. Where is she now, really? I have no clue. Can't keep track with all these girls.

Kaetlyn's program was better but still not good enough. After seeing what Alina does with this sort of a music, seeing a skater just skate from one part of the ice to the other while the music changes every second doesn't feel right or impressive. But she cleary skates with maturity and strength which I love. I always assumed Kaetlyn to be the 2nd, especially after seeing Alina's program but I wasn't expecting the 3rd place. I thought she would get a lot of PCS even if she totally bombed.

The judges were fair but I am still sad because of Wakaba. I like Maria too, I think she deserves her spots but I find her programs too boring that I usually stop watching. If I watched her once a year that would have been a delight, but I can't force myself through this event after event. Isn't her team the same with Radionova's, why do we always get these programs?

Oh thanks, Sam. I haven't been following much lately. I hope she continues and see what happens till she's grown up. I do love her skating.

You didnr understand, I didnt say any of those girls has chance to compete .What has to do Evgenia with it? I am right Evgenia is still one gilrl who competed with those girls a few years ago.Where are they, now? Beside Sotskova? Nowhere. Zagitova competed with Gubanova? And where is she now? Konstantinova, gubanova, Serafima get 60+ in SP. Where are russian girls from last year juniors?
Girls who now qualified for JGP Final wont be competitive nexr seson, maybe 1 or 2 will be serious senior skaters, the rest will be gone

Totally.

I had the same problem with her programs in Sochi. I loved her SP, one of the best I've seen in the last 4 years. Didn't care much for the free program though.

I mean they aren't podium finishers at the moment. I'm not counting the "podium finish" by Radionova via high PCS (with uncalled URs) which robbed others. Pogo is on a downward spiral, because her technique is terrible.

Regarding Mai's PCS, I really think she needs better packaging. This princess dress is just blah and makes her look so juniorish. She needs better styling to project the look of a senior because the skating is all there. She also lacks an X factor. But still an amazing skate for her, and definitely keeps her as a solid Japanese #2 at the moment, IMO.

But her short is obviously senior-y and meant to be different, and yet it only highlights her shortcomings in pcs
