2017 U.S. Nationals Championship Men SP

Poor Brandon Mroz, no one ever remembers that he was actually the first to land a 4Lz. :disapp:

... And I am also thrilled to see an African American male skater and to see him do well at his first Nats. I don't know if we have a senior African American skater since Rohene. When was Derrick Delmore active?

I guess an announcer must have misled everyone and said it is Savary's first senior Nats??

Last year was his first senior Nats. He placed 13th.

Glad he is off to a good start this year.

Nathan what a skate - jaw dropping jumps. Skating with Patrick and competing with the big boys has even improved his pacing. He is no longer racing against the music but taking his time and is more stable. Bravo!

Ashley's tweets are hysterical. "Maybe Raf will forget about my cheated double axel after this program"

Nearly 45 PCS for Nathan... WOW. I must say that was probably his best performance I've ever seen though. Bravo!

Um, all people on this planet are africans, what do you mean? :scratch2:

African American is how we refer to American citizens of African descent (also see: Asian Americans, Italian American, etc.). It's more formal/respectful than black in the US, even though black is fine to say. We don't have a lot of AA skaters in the US. Really, we don't have a lot of skaters who aren't white or Asian.
