2017 Worlds Pairs SP

North Koreans were great too!

Aww, we really need more than just 16. Such a shame we're going to miss some of these great pairs.

Wow not so bad either. Looks like the North Koreans plan to follow China's path. They try to conquer pairs first.

OMG, where have they been? :eeking:

I saw them for the first time and they were great! They were really really really fast and dynamic and could dance with THAT Music!!!!!

Their costumes and music choice are very much capitalist, so bold for North Koreans. (is there anyone remembering a little girl from the country who skated to a very unusual music and wore also a very unique pink dress during Junior GP series?) I hope to see them in the FS!

The North Korean team were great! If you want to skate to the Beatles, this is the music and arrangement you should chose, and this is how you should skate it! Not to mention the girl is super cute and the guy looks kinda like Han Yan. Some realky cool moves! So curious what they can do in the Free!

ETA: The partner ( i guess we'll learn their names soon enough) did that hand over his face right in front of me, that was a nice touch, reallly fitting the music and mood they set!

Really strong score! So happy they'll qualify for the FS! I wasn't honestly expecting it, what a great surprise!

Also I may have to eat my words from before... it looks more and more like 60 might be around the FS cut off after all....

It is a shame that only 16 teams make it to the FS. Some good pairs will be left out. I am hoping for the Australians but there are going to have to be some misses by fairly good pairs to come in order for them to sneak in. We'll see.

Unfortunately, primarily due to which country they represent, they are not able to perform more. They qualified for Worlds last year but weren't able to get the visa to the USA. I think due to funding issues with their federation they weren't able to go to a B this year, and they couldn't go to this years 4CCs since those were in South Korea (they did go to last years 4CCs).

I really like them a LOT, I'm actually a little obsessed with them lol. I hope they'll somehow get to go to the Olys next year but even though it looks like they are going to qualify for a spot I unfortunately doubt it due to the Olys location.

28 pairs is actually surprising.

They can't easily change the number qualifying for the FS due to a few issues, mainly the "4 pairs per warmup group" and "one ice resurfacing per FS" scheduling things

:( is just sad that the Aussies and the Japanese team will not qualify for FS even if they took more than 60 points
