Possibly.
But their women are tiny too.
Sui and Han aren't particularly large and they are amazing

North Korean pair were also amazing, and they struggled with the twist last season but cleaned it up. TBH, I don't know why Japan doesn't have better pair skaters. Is it a lack of talent in pair skills? Or is it because they don't train often? Bad coaches? I don't skate, and I know pairs skating is very hard, but I always thought that if you gnaw at it for years, you'll eventually be able to do a triple twist... but Kihara still doesn't. :scratch2:

Then again, Klimov still has a weak twist, so I guess training can't change everything.

I just had a weird flash back to when Seguin/Bilodeau launched their website and accidentally had the 2018 Olympics listed as taking place in PyongYang

Good grief with the scores of the top two so far. Way overdone. It looks like the scores are creeping upward for no visible good reason.

If the top-rated skate clean, then its going to be 77 - 80 range!!!

BTW, does anyone have a good workable livestream available that doesn't require signing up or trying to figure how to access?

I wish all kinds curses to rain down on IceNetwork after having paid for a season pass subscription and I'm unable to view livestream due to jumping and skipping. It's totally because they do not have the necessary IT upgrade to accommodate high volume viewing for major events.

Finally home! Glad to see that Czechs and North Koreans have qualified Free! :cheer:

I'm using this kazakhstani one that works well for me here in Dubai http://2streamking.co/kazsport

TBH, what did you expect? T/M scored over 80 points and in my opinion, they are not near S/H in terms of PCS, projection, emotion, presentation, etc. It's inevitable. After all, it's the season before the Olympics. Next season will probably be worse in terms of score inflation.

Y/Z is actually very stable in terms of their SP scores for the past couple of events, scoring around the 75 range, with the exception of the Asian Winter Games.

Just put my son to bed, and chillin on the couch after a long workday, finally i can watch!! Any HD streams available?? Youtube one maybe?

Did you see that backstage shot of your Empress that Eurosport showed there now before the break?

Nice!

I think with this trend in judging, even a world record might be broken. Maybe not today, but it could happen.

I think the only group with a 100% chance of qualifying entirely is group 7. Both 5 and 6 could still have some surprises for us.

5 pages ago I've said the Aussies have no chance for FS, but I don't have the save opinion anymore. With this field even Rusia can loose the 3rd spot if Tarasova is not ok :(

Japan is behind because they initially didn't place pairs and dance as highly important due to cultural reasons of it being considered improper for a couple to dance close together or act romantically together in public, which is what is necessary for figure skating partnerships. China is ahead because they began crafting pairs very early on. Yao Bin is chiefly responsible for lighting dynamite underneath China's pairs program after he was embarrassed by his and his partner's results at the 1980 World championships.

Oof, D/F... unfortunately I feel like the other pairs from the US wouldn't have had a great shot either, aside from the Knierims. The state of our pairs, man...
