Is the pairs really so competitive that the junior world champions are out or did they make mistakes? I can't imagine the ladies junior champ being out of the FS.

I know everyone is shocked by the high scoring, but have we had a Pairs SP competition as clean as this? like ever?

This is a very clean Worlds so far. Great ice and no hungry monster lurking in it.

Not anyone can get Carolina's PCS reputation. Especially at age 30. In fact, only Carolina has that.

So exactly what happened to D/F? Did they tank that badly? I really think that U.S. fed was taking a huge chance with Haven obviously still not solid with her leg. I wonder now if she's ever going to be strong enough again for them to make a run? Cain/LeDuc still need seasoning and amping up their difficulty and getting more experience under their belts. And Marissa/Mervin just have had too many technical hiccoughs despite their top-notch style and wonderful speed. So USFS backed D/F which might totally change next season with C/L and Deanna/Nate coming on strong. If Marissa/Mervin fix their tech problems they could totally do well next season, but they have to skate clean because ISU judges give U.S. skaters no rep points whatsoever.

Lots of pressure now on Scinerims to place in the top ten. The judges better be kind to the only U.S. pair remaining. I simply don't understand why they don't allow at least 22 or 24 teams with all the depth. At the least 20 teams should have been allowed. D/F were hurt coming in having to skate in an early group due to them missing an entire season due to Haven's injury.

At the moment needs 28.33 in PCS in order to qualify. This is going to be rough.

Thought Liudov/Dylan would have been a bit higher. That was their best skate of the year but scored just about the same as their SB! Guess the judges might be realising they need to save room for those to come.

This is probably the first time that the FS score cutoff was ever this high. Earlier in the thread I listed the cutoffs for the last 4 years and they were in the 40s or low 50s
