If it ends up being successful and she's able to land them as consistently as Anna and Sasha next year or at least at the end of next season, it might be worth it having this as a transition year. Then again I don't know how smart it is to do it while there are issues with underrotation, but hey, I'm no expert

he and eteri are pretty close. he wouldn't be talking like this if they werent. nothing will change your mind even if eteri herself said this you would probably say something like "she's just saying it for the cameras". even if alina said this people would still find excuses, theres really no point.

and i wouldnt say this is a change in philosophy, its always been like this. some people just don't want to accept it

I didnt see comments about Alina, but there is lots of comments about Eteri and Daniil, especially concerning that training video at EC where they scold her for god know what, giving her programs that she cannot handle, exhausting her with all the crazy training...

Firstly, some people may be getting confused between Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk. Sofya is from Krasnoyarsk, which is 5000+ km away from Ossetia and Dagestan. Krasnoyarsk is as far from Ossetia as New York is from central Brazil. There is absolutely no proximal connection between Sofya and the Kavkas.

Secondly, a large chunk of Russian genealogy got disrupted when 27 million Russians lost their lives in '43-44, defeating fascism. So it is always tenuous, to say the least, to draw connections between "surname" etymology and genealogy with any faith.

Now I remember after Liza rose to fame and then started to struggle, her problem was more psychological because I remember she was getting help from a sports psychologist, right? Then after she got her World title, her main issue became lack of motivation. I'd say there is always some issues with a skater at different stages of their career, and they are all addressable. Kostner is a very good example too.

I think its a little more concerning that the issues are mental more than physical, broken bones/sore muscles - a tangible thing to fix, mental issues that show up at competition much more difficult because its something that only happens at competition.

I am puzzled about Alina. Euros and last year at RusNats and Worlds she seemed - fatigued. I am puzzled because I've seen the training, now at Euros she was very solid and strong. What is it that happens before the big night? Doesn't she eat? Doesn't she sleep?
