2018-2019 Russian Nationals Men FS

Well, I liked that, technical issues aside.

I agree, the axis on all these jumps is so terrifying!

Somebody should make a thread imagining skaters in other disciplines. The Satoko-Shoma ice dance team has been mentioned so many times, after all.
Satoko in pairs is the dream. Imagine how easy and big the throws and twists would be!

Speaking of somebody who should switch disciplines......Aliev should form an ice dance team with Gubanova

Dima is lovely, but I really would appreciate it if he showed some more range with his programs next season. And please get away from Averbukh. The programs are perfect for him, but they're almost too perfect, if that makes sense. This season was fine, but another set of the same next year would be too much.

With the way the Russian men are, honestly, that performance might get him on the podium. Nice job!

Oh, Dmitri, what happened to you this season? At the end of last year I thought you were poised to take on the world.

What is it with the axel, Dmitri.....such a beautiful skater....why is not coming together for him? *sigh*

Couple of pops but only 1 fall, phew. I'll take that, but that might not be enough for Euros spot sigh...

I'm always completely taken with Dima's quality of movement and his commitment to his programs! It saddens me that he is not competing for the top spot

Beautiful, Aliev... but ending with the running man never fails to make me laugh.

Yes, he's probably my fave Russian man at the moment, but I think a real personality program would do him a world of good. With real choreography that isn't watered down for the jumps.

Still, the potential IS there. This is like a major Growing Pains Season for him, isn't it?

As a hobby runner. I appreciate Dima's running man.

He did at least THREE axels lol.

Back on topic, who's teaching men jump in Russia these days? Those axis look scary as heck

Good point. I wish Yagudin would coach. His posture and air positions... drool.

I’m afraid he’s going to fall RIGHT at the end! Aliev, avoid unnecessary risks! You of all people should not be playing with fire!

I love that Dima and Boyang have these less high profile coaches who really care about them.

You know I love folk music, but this music is like some endless 18th century murder ballad with 383434343 verses. And it's massively overproduced.

And boring.
