Something about competing in front of a home crowd can make some skaters tense up. She fought for it though.

I sensed that with Mae today. Almost like she reverted to old technique on her jumps, leading to more of a wrap.

Regarding Alexia and skating for the US, while I like her and she's capable, she's pretty much guaranteed to get assignments skating for Switzerland, it wouldn't make sense for her to switch even if she'd add some extra competition nationally.

Mae’s said that the Russian did very well and that Mae’s score was a little lower that she thought. All said in a “that’s fair” tone.

I love how candid she is with everything.

I was referring to how twitter went crazy over her result last week and suggestions (joking) that she goes back to representing US. And also to how each time a US girl does well it's all eyes on her and everyone talks about her as if she is the next Michelle... for about a week.

It didn't? I swear that there are like 50 skaters doing a La La Land program this season, although maybe my mind has just amplified it because I hate the music so much.
