I totally agree Vilord. It is unfair to everyone involved and I really hope that the ISU will look into this and clearify/add to the rules, because it is going to be an even bigger mess for Russian Ladies next year.
Yes, there should be a persistent high scoring objective or a formula which devaluates results over time when not replaced by new more current results.
But ISU will probably ride out the storm since this particular tense situation only exists in Russian ladies singles and they don't want to create precedents or give the impression of bowing under pressure.
Now it's up to the athlete. We can only hope she won't be bombarded with h@te on her social media or in the gossip and scandalous press.
