It’s weird that she changed coaches mid-season, I’m not even sure it’s allowed by the rules, I think skaters are allowed to do so only if something urgent happens.

And that the Russian nationals this year are in the middle of freaking nowwhere. Whoever thought of this place should get fired.

No news as to the how and why of Frolova changing rinks. The FP music sounded like a stop gap measure to me. But Anna did really well, so the change was probably for the better.
TAT said in yesterday's comment it was an emergency change, but I cannot find confirmation in the media.

Someone said this was to honour last year's winner as it is their hometown. I'm not sure if they were just joking or if that is the actual reason but it's worth a consideration.

Which winner? Not Anna cause she has been born in moskau and lives there so it would have to be another disiplines winner
And if it's true than sorry for me that's not a good reason. Soemthing like rusnats should take place somewhere skater have the possibility to get there fast. And if soemthing like this happens what happenend with zhenya now that skaters have a chance to get new boots on heir level. It's only natural that in this town you would not get boots for skaters on this level

Samodurova is from Krasnoyarsk.
But FFKKR probably went for the highest bidder to host their championship. And Krasnoyarsk region made an impact in sports the past couple of years and wants to establish itself amongst the leaders. Plus it is nice to spread your national championships over the nation, but in case of Russia this means logistic problems.

They can’t hold it in Moscow every year.
Sure not every region is as develop as Moscow and St Petersburg, yet if they hold competitions in other cities, it can help boost interest towards the sport.
And Krasnoyarsk isn’t “nowhere”, it’s a fairly big city.
World Cup, Universiade, JGPs were also held in fairly distant regions, it’s not the responsibility of any official to ensure that skaters have their boots intact, it’s the responsibility of the skaters
Someone may have posted this already, but Evgenia announced that her free skate next season will be "Alegria" from Cirque du Soleil.
To be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about this choice. She can make anything work, but I'm just not a huge fan of circus/Cirque du Soleil programs in general. I'm willing to keep an open mind, though. Who knows, she may make me love it! :yes:

No its not. Sorry but this is my opinion, and i stated it nicely. So its not an ugly statement. Would you still say the same if any of the 3a had this problrm right now? Probably not. I would say the majority would say soemthing like this then. Yes it is rare that a few week old boots break,1 but in situation like this it should at least be possible to get new skates that are for the level theses skater perform. . I mean you could not even get new boots anywhere else but the cities shop, who did only have boots for novices.

Just as not every Canadian nationals is held in Vancouver, Toronto or Montreal I'm sure the Rusfed likes to spread the joy around a bit. But I mean really? Does anyone want to go to Winnipeg or Ottawa in January?

I am more shocked about another smiling face while they announced zhenya withdrawing.
I think I know exactly who you're talking about and I would say I was equally suprised however I thought I had noticed something shady from that person at Rostelecom but I dismissed it but now it seems to have basis.
